Ok people, I have a question. Do any of you know any software that will capture video from a dvd?

The story behind this is that my dad and uncle went to a ballgame. My uncle got up on the big screen. The team sent a copy of the broadcast to my dad, unfortunately it's the whole 3hr ballgame on 2 DVDs, not just the couple of minutes my uncle was on the jumbotron.

My dad would like to capture that part of the broadcast and give it to my uncle. I would imagine it would be nice to rip those couple of minutes of DVD video to a mpeg or wmf clip.

Any ideas? Obviously I don't want to spend much, if any money on this. Any freeware/shareware/demos out there you people know of?

thanks,

Omi

I'm thinking the best solution would be to use a program like DVD-Decrypter to rip the entire DVD to your hard drive and then using any freeware encoding program to simply encode those files back into a wmv or an mpeg or a DivX avi.

Sadly, I'm at work and can't really track those programs down for you. Freeware or not, I'm not sure if the government is fond of me looking up ripping software at work.

Minion: Shame really.
