I saw my first ad tonight for a drug for women to enhance their sex lives, and it occurs to me: If you need drugs in order to enjoy or have sex, maybe you shouldn't be having sex?
Those who need these things might want to consider that sex isn't for them, at least not until they can actually enjoy it without the requirement of medications.

It's called alcohol and it's more to tolerate it than enjoy it.

You might be right. They might be with the wrong person, at the wrong time, in the wrong place, or of the wrong sexual persuasion. I would like to think drugs would be a last resort, but I know they are not.

But what if you have a genuine medical problem that precludes you from having or enjoying sex? And what if you're in a committed relationship, where the lack of sexual enjoyment could poison your relationship? If you want to have sex and enjoy sex because it brings you closer to your partner, but can't because of physical problems, I don't see anything wrong with seeking pharmaceutical assistance. Geez, a little hormonal imbalance can throw a person's sex drive completely out of whack. If it makes the difference, I don't see anything wrong with a supplement. If a woman had painful fibroids or another gynecological problem that made sex painful, would you think her similarly undeserving of sex because she sought treatment?
Sheesh, man. Judge not lest you be judged and all that. I'll agree those ads are annoying, but why should you care about how other people go about their sex life?

Don't be concerned, I am only going to stick up for Kirk until he tells me I've got it all wrong, then he's on his own... I think he is talking about people who choose to use them to enhance their sex life, not people who are medically incapable of doing so without said drugs. If it was only men with ED or women with gyno problems using these types of prescription medicines, then we wouldn't be having this discussion at all. It's become popular to pop the "little blue pill", and I would bet that most of the men who use it, don't actually need it.

Well, if we're talking about people who illegally obtain prescription drugs like Viagra, especially when they don't need it, that's another matter--that's breaking the law. But if someone is taking some type of herbal supplement that's legal to enhance their sex life (whether it works or not is another debate, although placebo effect could mean something), why should I give a shit? Should I similarly judge people who can't have good sex unless dressed in diapers? It's none of my business (and certainly not my place to judge) what people use to "enhance" their sex lives, be it ginseng, scented candles, weird toys, or dressing up.
Hey- I have no problem with what people do in their own homes.
I could've managed to live happily the rest of my life never picturing someone having sex in a diaper.
Then again, just flip past HBO at the wrong time of night, and you see crazy shit like Furries and people who think they're ponies. :dunno:
I really don't care.
Remember the thread about the threesome? (http://www.pleasemakethiswork.com/) (Btw, he's hit his mark, and she upped the ante- 15 million hits, and he gets a foursome) They are being sponsored by an enhancement drug.
I'm surprised that Viagara isn't availavle over the counter yet, since it seems to be pretty accessible to just about anyone who wants it. And who decides what is legal when it comes to prescriptions? Your doctor.
"Doc, my soldier won't salute, can I get some pills?"
"I think you should relax, and not stress yourself about it. I'm sure it is just temporary. Cut back on the coffee and donuts, and in the meantime, here's a month's supply of Levitra."
Now, this may be a real situation, but then again, the guy could be completely full of shit. He may use the pills for himself, or he could sell them to someone else.
I really just think this country is overmedicated period. People who seriously need drugs can't get them (AIDS crisis in Africa, anyone?), but healthy men with fully functioning penises are getting ED medications to enhance their sex lives. I'm not making any judgements, just observations.
Like I said, I really don't care what anyone does in their homes, as long as I don't have to hear about it.
