I picked this up the other day. While the Theatrical Cut didn't do as well as expected or hoped, if they would have shown this version, I think it would have gone over much better.

I haven't been able to get through all the extras, but the movie is presented over two discs (194 minutes in length) and flows so much better. There is more of Liam Neeson (excellent) and is just all in all a much better picture. I'm sure Sir Ridley was told to pare down the movie by the studios, but they need to have a little more faith in the director, especially someone like Sir Ridley.

Can't wait for his final version of Blade Runner!! :jump2:

I liked the theatrical cut, but the director's cut is much, much better. The amount of restored character detail really improves it. I'm not so sure about the final confrontation between Bloom and Marton Csokas, though. I mean, it's a decent swordfight, but it comes off as too much of a typical Hollywood finale moment.

Amazing extras, too. After David Prior, Charles de Lauzirika does the best special editions around. Although I would've liked a little more interactive (i.e. multi-angle, multi-audio) stuff.

I saw this on overstock.com and picke dit up for a grand total of $15.xx and that included shipping. Great movie. I cant believe Fox cut out so much, but all in all, the film comes together much better in the directors cut.
