They're back, and this time, IT'S PERSONAL! Obama v. McCain. Let's get it on!
Anyone have any idea what they're talking about this time btw? I have no idea.

I'm not sure it matters what the official topic is. They are going to talk about the economy because that's what the people are interested in.
Could we have Tina Fey debate Sarah Palin?

I'd pay to see that. If it was a bra and panty match, I'd consider killing someone. Someone I didn't like, anyway.
Yeah, gonna be interesting. I'm expecting a bit of flopsweat from McCain, considering his poll numbers are doing a Titanic.
I'm quite all a'smiles now, thinking of all the right wingers who were creaming about Palin, who is the albatross with expensive eyewear now hanging around the neck of their standard bearer.
How sweet it is.

Why, yes, thank you!
It just happens that the debates have taken place on evenings when I'm busy, so I'm hearing them on the radio while I'm driving, rather than watching them. It does gives you a bit of a different perspective.

You know, one thing this election has shown me, and its scares me, is that the Media is the new power in this country....well maybe not new, but now its out in the open. They have for the most part decided, with maybe the exception of Fox, that Obama MUST win, so they are pulling out all the stops, to make sure he does...this is NO WAY a slam on Obama, this is solely media based, i don't care but no one here, can in anyway claim, that most of the media is NOT pro obama. This bailout, and the fuck up its trying to fix, a part of it, was caused by Barney Frank...A DEMOCRAT?!?! but most of the news, and a large portion of the country are jumping the Republicans...hell they are at fault too, but fuck little to no coverage of the tool Frank, and his greatness in leading to this fuck up. Second, what happened to the Democratic Congress taking on Bush, and fixing the growing problems??????? WHAT THE FUCK, IM SO TIRED OF THAT BEING INGORED!!!, I want answers damnit, '03 people are both sides Obama, AND McCain both started bringing up this mortage crisis, ok, so that means people know, WHY DIDN'T CONGRESS ACT??? This is bullshit, Democrats are gonna save us my ass, Republicans are the answer....MY ASS, this is amazing that any of us, can stand by either of these parties when both have become a joke, A FUCKING JOKE, a joke mind you, that can mean the collapse of our country. You know what these two parties have done well?? Driven us apart, making us insult each other, my god, people care so much about who belongs to what party, that its driving us apart as a country!!! this is horrible, we are all Americans damnit, and we all need to FACE IT, BOTH parties have failed us......im soooo disgusted with this system.

Has anyone been keeping track of how many times McCain has referred to us as "my friends"?

Yeah!!! Outy and I are drunk. Because we took shots of tequila each time he said it. We have no idea who said what other than that phrase.
Thanks for a fun Debate McCain.!!!!!!

Now it's out in the open? :D I don't think that anyone could or would have disputed the argument that the media holds a significant amount of power over practically every country at any time since Gutenberg invented the printing process.

I think 90% of all voting Americans complain like this all the way to the polling place. And then they vote either Democrat or Republican anyway. :D

We need Jerry Springer to be the moderator of all debates from now on.

I tuned out as well after 25 minutes.
Obama was going "But you people don't want to see us point fingers" while continuing to point fingers...
Meanwhile, McCain was doing his best to put me to sleep.
Bah to the both of them.

Well, what do you expect? Obama is ahead and his lead seems to be growing, so his main fear is that McCain/Palin will swiftboat him at the last minute (which Palin seems to be trying). The race is his to lose now, so he tries his best not to make some kind of huge mistake. McCain on the other hand seems to be running out of ideas on how to turn this race around.

True true.
Honestly don't think Swiftboat ads should even be a worry for Obama with four weeks to go. He should be more worried about young voters forgetting to do their duties much like 04 and all the closet racism out and about. People who profess to being open minded but spout racist terms frequently inside their homes and will be voting for someone not black come election day.
Oh...and retirement communities who get shuttled out to election booths on the day only to be confused by someone with the names Barack and Obama stringed together on a ballot.
Those should bring more worries for their campaign than any swiftboat ad that some nut ball group can come up with between now and election day.
I vote the Springer option for Debate #3. It's not like either side is really interested in debating or answering questions here moreso than spouting the same old song and dance speeches fit neatly within 1-3 minute segments.
As you say, McCain stopped dancing the right direction for some people a while back and I'm thinking his new plan is a devious policy of oratory sleep inducing trickery.

Well, this works in both directions. Supposedly, around 92% of African-American voters are planning to vote for Obama (3% for McCain). Compare this with Kerry's results, where the balance was 88%/11% (Kerry/Bush) for the African-American vote. Apparently, white people aren't the only ones who are quite very aware of the candidates' race.

I watched it all... Well, OK, I was working on a project for work and it was on. Other than a few little funny quips from Tom Brokaw and the candidates, it was nothing new and NOTHING exciting. I did get a little tickled at Barack's mixed metaphors. "Green behind the ears"?

Man, I just spazzed on the King yesterday because I thought I missed a debate in which NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENED! Sorry for that King.
Seriously, I'd have thought I was watching a replay of their first debate if it weren't for Brokaw repeatedly complaining about them going over time. Did anybody else find that annoying? Were either of them going to say anything new even if they'd have gotten through double the number of questions? I say no.
There was something else that pissed me off, too. Obama's plans to revitalize the economy sound more than vaugely similar to the things Hillary Clinton was saying she would do if she were elected. I had the privledge of hearing all three Clintons and Obama speak while they were touring Pa, and I don't remember Obama saying anything about how he would focus on creating green collar jobs to revitalize the economy. In fact all I remember him doing was spouting off about the 'road to change.'
There's no doubt the media has been partial to Obama almost from the outset. Sorry to harp on the Clintons, but I remember Chelsea saying she was appaled while on the trail with her mother when a man in the audience screamed 'Iron my shirt!' at Hillary. Then she said she was even more appaled when none of the traveling press thought it was worthy of a news story.
Now ask yourself if there would not have been a media uproar if someone at one of Obama's functions had called him the "N" word?

Screw that! I say the third debate should be a Thunderdome-style caged deathmatch!

"Next time on "Presidential Debates" we find out that Obama is actually Palin's baby's daddy, much to the shock of her sugar daddy McCain"
It's either that, or I want McCain and Obama's wrists tied together and them given switchblade. Vote Jets or Sharks this November!

You forget, everyone admits racism is bad now, so it's like the height of political incorrectness to use that word.
But it's still socially acceptable to treat women like sex objects or hired help; hell, just look at any music video. Women have the vote and equal rights now, so anything else we complain about is just whining. Sexism doesn't exist any more, right? So the bitches should shut up and take it. :sarcasm:

Totally agree with you there, Negs.
Check out the latest Biden/Obama in the lead thread for an example of more of the same....
