Something is wrong with me

I know...you all are like, "tell us something we don't know."

This post is about a subject that I really never thought I'd discuss -- Hillary Duff. Yeah...I know!

I'll preface this by saying that she was really never on my radar. I mean, she didn't do the schoolgirl thing like Britney, or the slut thing like Christina. She went more of the Mandy Moore (I do like her, yeah, she's hot, but I also think she's pretty smart and I dug her stint on Entourage as well) route and kept her nose clean. But basically, I paid no attention to her whatsoever.

Then I saw War, Inc. In it, she played a middle-eastern version of Britney Spears by the name of Yonica Babyyeah. Wow. I had to do a double take because I didn't believe it was her. She was great in the role; and the shit that came out of her mouth! AWESOME!

Now we come to something that I should, by all rights, completely hate. Duff's new single "Reach out and Touch Me."
Cons:
1. As you might expect it's got the "Personal Jesus" music, and I almost always hate it when other people just lift music from one song and sing something else over it.
2. Stupid rapper guy at the beginning
3. She wants us to "reach out and touch me" instead of faith.
4. She lifts a line from Madonna!
5. Did I mention stupid rapper guy?

And yet...I like it. It might have something to do with the fact that Duff, who to me has never been before, is pure sex in this video, like this video'll get wood for the Pope. But more than that, somehow the damn abortion of a song seems to work, and it bothers me a bit that I like it.

I was going to post that EXACT video last night.

In a world of disposable pop tarts dolled up to look like something they're not, Hilary Duff is a true classic beauty. As a teenager she was adorable. And now that she's matured, it's clear she is a very sensual woman.

You're absolutely normal. And so am I. Most of the time.

Meh.
I make no apologies for wanting carnal knowledge of any hot chick, but Duff's chubby-inducing hotness aside, I should really loathe the song, but I don't. I think it's more an homage to various tunes. Other versions of it don't have the rapper, and don't use the PJ music, but some sort of riff on "Tainted Love." That also works really well, strangely enough. And then the dM ripoff isn't quite so obvious (unless you're older than 15). Again, "ripoff" probably isn't the right word.

I've never been overly excited by Ms Duff. And isn't this song just a ripoff of Depeche Mode? I will admit it's pretty sexy.

It sort of reminds me of Fiona Apple's video Criminal which I find much sexier.
