I missed the chance to post on St Martin's Day (11 November), as I was at the Blavatsky conference in ***, but I wanted belatedly to mark the day with St Martin's much quoted lines, which he is reputed to have spoken to the Devil:
Signa te signa; temere me tangis et angis;
Roma tibi subito motibus ibit amor
(So inadequately translated as "Cross, cross yourself; you annoy and vex me without cause;
Through my exertions, Rome, the object of your longing.")
I'm glad to say I'm now back for a spell!

Here's my favourite:-
Dog as a devil deified;
Deified lived as a God.
If we're going to start playing with palindromes, we're inevitably going to end up with ambigrams... and you know what THAT means!

I don't think I know what THAT means! Rosicruciverbalism? Or are you referring to the man who brought us the episcopelian Ring-a-ring-a-roses or the superhero, who spoke of Templarrs and uttered that line so typical of any superhero: "We need to find a library, quickly!"? Surely, it cannot be Inner Bad Owl?

Groan. Not EVERYTHING is about Dan Brown! As someone pointed out in another thread... the true grand master of the Illuminati is Robert Anton Wilson, even though he is currently managing the affairs of the human race from a parallel universe...

For the uncultivated amongst us (and I'm at the top of the list), who on earth is Robert Anton Wilson, why should we read him and what should we start with?:headscratch:
