The full list. (http://tv.yahoo.com/feature/emmynominees06.html)

In short...24 got 12 nominations, more than any other regular series. Gray's Anatomy was second with 11. The nominations are mostly technical, but Kiefer, Gregory Itzin, and Jean Smart all got nominated for acting.

I know the Emmys just don't mean that much to us fans, after seeing the show get next to nothing for the past four years. But, this is one of the only shows on TV worth watching (to me), and I'd like to see it get rewarded...particularly Kiefer and Itzin.

On another note, a bit of a surprise that Lost wasn't nominated for best series.

Hey, the nomination for best drama series ain't nothing to sneeze at, either. I'd love to see "24" finally win that, I think this was its best season yet.

Last week EW published their predictions:

Kiefer Sutherland, should win Best Actor, but will lose to "The West Wing's" Martin Sheen
Gregory Itzen should and will win Best Supporting Actor
Jean Smart should win Best Supporting Actress, but will lose to "Grey's Anatomy's" Sandra Oh

and "24" should and will win Best Drama!

Bold prediction, we'll see tonight if they're right.

Itzen lost to *shockuponshocks* Alan Alda of the West Wing.

Jean Smart lost to Blythe Fucking Danner of "Huff"

and unrelatedly, Megan Mulally won...again.

The Emmys are in such hopeless shape. Almost sad what they've become.

Whooo-hoooo! Way to go Keifer! Way to go 24! This has been a long time coming, wouldn't you say? Gregory Itzan as President Logan totally got robbed though. He was the best thing to happen to that show since Palmer left IMO.

I'm not terribly upset that Jean Smart lost. Gregory Itzin should have won hands down. But hooray for Kiefer and the show. Glad to see the props.

I totally agree Itzen got robbed, I can't imagine anyone else being better than he was last season.

That said, I know that the Emmys are judged on single episodes, not an entire season's worth of work. Which makes me think that since Itzin's work was especially great over a series of episodes, maybe the one he chose to submit couldn't show that very well. Or maybe Alda's single episode was great, or maybe he's just Alan Alda and Emmy voters love him.

Still, I'm thrilled that Kiefer and "24" won last night--I was afraid Sheen and "West Wing" would get goodbye Emmys--but it's about damn time "24" got some love!

I only watched the intro, which was freaking hilarious, I love Conan, and then I flipped back once out of boredom to see The Daily Show beat out The Colbert Report for best writing (honestly, either way, Colbert won, he writes for both). Had no interest in watching the rest, good to hear Kiefer won though!
