So first, I just wanted to start this by say Hey to everyone, its been awhile, and my life has been crazy, but im back...lol now, on to rant.

So im a huge fan, and I mean a HUGE FAN of the Total War series, I have them all, from Shogun on, and the last one before Empire, Medieval Total War was one of the best of the genre. Soooo way back when Empire was first told to the world, and I found out that at long last we were moving into 18th century as I had always wanted, I was GEEKED, so needless to say I was first in line to get this, I mean I had built a custom high end computer, to play this, and a few other titles coming up for godsake!! Well I got home, and poped this puppy in, and wiped my drool up, and was ready to get down to some serious empire building, when lowww and behold, it started to install Steam!!....now I understand that the series was offered on steam, but never before did a game install it, soooo instead of installing this game quickly, and getting down to business, I was stuck, for HALF A HOUR, waiting for steam to be put on my computer. But I pushed back my growing rage, and told myself that this game is worth it......

Well when it had finally put steam on my system, it put the game on next, AT LAST I said to myself, now lets get down to business!..Alas it was not to be...cause, when all was done, and loaded, I hit the ole Play Empire Total War button...and what happens?... I GET A FUCKING STEAM ERROR MESSAGE TELLING ME THAT THE GAME WAS UNAVILBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!! IS THIS SOMEKIND OF SICK JOKE ON THE PART OF SEGA, AND CREATIVE ASSEMBLY?!!?!?!? no....its not, yep folks, at long last the great, and amazing Total War series has joined the ranks of bullshit. You NEED to have steam on, you NEED to go through steam, to play a game, THAT YOU JUST PAYED $50 FOR!!!!!! so the good ole days of downloading a game on your system, and *GASP* hitting the desktop icon to play it, ARE FUCKING OVER, no you need to have the internet now, you need to have a system that has nothing to do with your game, to play a game that you bought, with your money!! its like im fucking renting the damn thing!

To say that im pissed is a understatment, to say that this has soured one of my most looked forward games of the year! is a understatement....and computer elites that always look down on consule players....well now I know why I play my 360 more, cause you don't have to deal with this shit, do these companys have any clue that they are destroying the PC gaming lifestyle!??!?! that they are driving people away!??!?......well, here you go Sega, Creative Assembly, this is my LAST pc product I will EVER buy from you, thanks for taking and destorying my favorite series of PC games out there.....assholes

Ouch.

Having to use Steam in order to play Half-Life 2 was a bit annoying. Lucky for me, I missed all the insanity from when HL2 first came out. By the time I bought it, they had worked out most of the bugs, so it was just a minor inconvenience for me.

Of course if you try to install it on a computer not hooked up to the internet.....
