It's a bit pointless to ask who is going to go see it...I mean, everyone will...but what are your thoughts on it? I suppose it has its appeal with some folks, the anthropomorphic cars and all, but I've been quite underwhelmed with a lot of the trailers lately.

I'm digging most of the voice cast though. Owen Wilson, Bob Costas, Paul Newman, Larry The Cable Gu.....err, okay....most of the voice cast. :green:

Minion: Needs to go fill up at Chevron now.

The first trailer looked way too Fisher Price for me. Since then its shown a bit more promise, but I gotta agree that Larry The Cable Guy doesn't make me want to see it at all.

Yeah, for me the first trailer wasn't a slam-dunk like the one for "The Incredibles." I have no idea what the movie is about besides talking cars. So I will wait to hear more about it before I decide.

I agree. I really have no idea what the movie is supposed to be about. But talking cars rank a close second to monkeys in my Big Book of Funny, so I'll probably watch it.

I think it's supposed to be about a car that dreams of being a race car. I saw John Lasseter last night on TCM talking about Hayao Miyazaki (sp?), and the interviewer got on the subject of Pixar, and Lasseter said that they're all really happy with the way the film is turning out, so that makes me feel better.

*sigh* You people really need to go and look at the links I provide...

From joblo.com

Lightning McQueen (voiced by Wilson), a hotshot rookie race car driven to succeed, discovers that life is about the journey, not the finish line, when he finds himself unexpectedly detoured in the sleepy Route 66 town of Radiator Springs. On route across the country to the big Piston Cup Championship in California to compete against two seasoned pros, McQueen gets to know the town’s offbeat characters –including Sally (a snazzy 2002 Porsche voiced by Hunt), Doc Hudson (a 1951 Hudson Hornet with a mysterious past, voiced by Newman), and Mater (a rusty but trusty tow truck voiced by Larry the Cable Guy) – who help him realize that there are more important things than trophies, fame and sponsorship. The all-star vocal cast also includes free-wheeling performances by racing legend Richard Petty and. Fueled with plenty of humor, action, heartfelt drama, and amazing new technical feats, CARS is a high octane delight for moviegoers of all ages.

"Lightning McQueen (voiced by Wilson), a hotshot rookie race car driven to succeed, discovers that life is about the journey, not the finish line ...."

Now what's fun about that? Sounds like trite crap. Now, retired superhero dad trying to fit into his old suit, THAT was fun. :winks:

I was just stating that the trailer hasn't got my attention or interest piqued very much. I could have found out more if I cared to. :winks:

I wasn't very interested in this until someone at work found the international trailer for Cars. It shows a lot more of the characters and is a much better trailer than either of the US ones. It's too bad I have no idea where to find it though. :(

It's still up in the air for me . . .

Mabie will , mabie won't. The 2nd trailer looked better but still not to crazy bout Larry: the cable hick either!
