Yesterday is the slowest day in sports. No baseball, no football, NBA free agent signing is just starting, etc etc.

So I go to my local bar, and they have the AAA allstar game and the WNBA all star game on. http://smilies.vidahost.com/cwm/cwm/puke.gif

I ask the bartender to put ANYTHING else on, so he switches to poker on one of the Fox sports channels.

A few minutes later a guy comes in and asks if they can turn the WNBA game back on. The bartender and I were incredulous and asked why ANYONE would want to watch that game. That's when I heard the words that made me stagger.

"I got money on the game".

How much of a degenerate gambler to you have to be when you gamble on an Allstar game, much less the WNBA allstar game?????

We asked him why and he said it was the only game he could get action on. :dunno: I almost told him he'd better get to Gambler's Anonymous.

Now that's just plain sad.
He'd probably place bets on his own feet to see which shoelace he could tie
faster on either foot. :ohwell:

What I think is sad is you were wating Poker on Fox sports...

Poker is not a sport! It is a game! It does not need to be televised. People trying to show no emotion holding cards... whoopie! Give me a real sport like lacrosse or russian routlette.

They really have to reach for things every once in a while. I've seen Scrabble tournaments, dominoes, cheerleading competitions...I actually flipped by one of those on ESPN Classic. Was it an earth shattering upset? Did Podunk College come out of nowhere to defeat the mighty defending champs? Were the judges taking bribes? What qualifies this as a classic? I don't know, I surfed right past it.

I found myself watching International Dart championship last night for an hour.

Thankfully a baseball game came on soon after I got there.
