This made me laugh and sad at the same time...

It made me sad for the obvious reasons. Extremists totally screwing the world over for every moderate out there...

But it made me laugh because I once pictured Al-Qaida as politically and street intelligent...

If the French declare full war on you it needs to be pointed out you're doing something wrong, you extremist idiots.

It's almost amazing what they screwed up here. If they kept the war between us Capitalist Pigs in the U.S., they would have so many new followers with their side. Everyone loves to root for the underdog and they would have seen this little group, however violent, as taking on a former world superpower (China's now above us and Russia) and they would have supported them.

But no.

Instead, over the past few years, they've concentrated their attacks against less capital-based nations in the United Nations. They couldn't full blow attack the U.S. like a decade ago so they went for Italy, our brothers in the U.K., Egypt, Germany, Russia, and now France.

Wow at this political idiocy. It almost makes me believe that a madman is at the helm and not someone as ideologically entrenched as Osama Bin Laden.

Instead of getting the upper hand in just attacking us Americans, you attack our allies and cause them financial and political fallout? You give us the upper hand in such a case as well?

Way to know your history...

I don't think there is an end to this war without a broken arrow incident but reading that story tonight had me laughing/sad at the same time...And I thought I'd share my thoughts on the whole situation.

Feel free with your own thoughts. We're all listening...

But your reasoning only works if you assume the goal is to take over on piece of land or fight one enemy. Much like the focused single front Germany in WW II. The problem being the extremest goal is like Germany's "take it all" approach and rather than be patient and concentrate on achieving that goal slowly suddenly they want more results and faster. Which then brings other sides into play when they realize that the enemy of their enemy (or at least the side they want brought down a few pegs) also has sights set on them.

Besides, its France. Them declaring war on you is the first step to their eventual surrender so it is practically a win for the other side when France "gets serious." :P

I think that what gets me the most, Beten. While reading the news this morning, I was drawing the parallels with the Nazi's mistake at the same time. Way to know their history, right?

Wars are usually lost by stretching yourself too thin and fighting on too many fronts against too many opponents.

 At your France comment. I mean, seriously, you know it's a bad PR loss when a country like that finally declares full war on you. :D
