Looks like the unknown "they" have picked the top 50 most influential christians in the body of Christ for last year. Theres something engaging about lists and going down them and agreeing or disagreeing with the choices. I never seemed to agree with the greatest rock n roll songs in history lists.....but generally seem to agree that they are all great for some reason or another if not the exact order. I believe this list was compiled by an internet and letter writing poll of around 150,000 votes.

Where did Jesus rank?
Where did Jesus rank?
It could be this one: http://www.thechurchreport.com/mag_article.php?mid=643&type=year
At first I thought that this was about American Christians and that this is why they left out Jesus, but then I saw the Pope on #44 (24% of the people in the US are Catholics and the Pope is on #44? WTF?).
Benny Hinn on #30. Great. Perhaps David Copperfield should be on #29 then? But it's nice to see Joel Osteen on #2, because on my list of "50 most annoying Christians" he is on #1. Watching him speak makes my teeth hurt.

Martin Luther, Hernán Cortés, Henry VIII, Mary Queen of Scots, would come after Jesus on my list.

And ID would be up near the top on my list!
And of course Outsydr, cause he is the REAL pope, not that charlatan from Germany!

Wait wait wait...so this T.D. Jakes (he's missing the 'ter',btw) is more influential than Dubya?! So Bush The Little really isn't running the country.
And Dobson, Colson and Sekulow scare the shit outta me.
Moop, I hear you about the Pope, but I look at it this way -- he's so influential that he made the list FROM OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY! But seriously, I'd say that without humour if it were JPII, but not Benedict.
Benny Hinn is evil, plain and simple. I can do what he does -- "Touch the television and God will heal you!" "We need money so that I can continue to broadcast and heal people. Send me money." "How much can you afford to send? Send me more than that. It wouldn't be a sacrifice if you could afford it. God will repay you."
Then there's that southern dude (uh-huh, I know) who says "Do you have any uf Jeeeeeeesus' money? I bet you do. Go and look in your wallet and see how much of Jeeeesus' money you have. Send it to me. I'll take care of it for Him."

You must be talking about this guy:

But really, if you are searching for the those who are most influential in the "religion" shared by all people of this board, look no further than these characters:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v432/webdev/cineNativity.jpg
Of course, you have to have a "Personal Savior" on the board, one who will always protect you from those Internet Demons:

Of course, there will always be those religious arguments, fights, and other debacles on the board, such as this old battle that almost brought Cinescape to it's knees:

But when participating in these religious arguments, ya gotta watch out for the innevitable punishments:

But play your cards right, and you receive many wonderful gifts from the almighty:

But seriously, thinking about all this religious stuff, and you people of the board....I think this is all the religion you need:

The "THEY" in this case seems to be the RNC, Mac. Anytime you can get Bush, Hannity and Santorum on the same list as legitimate Christian leaders, you're showing slant. At least this time, they've only got one known criminal on the list.
Frankly, I would have included THIS evil genius!

Speaking of major religious figures, I never will forget the time I partied with the Dalai Lama.
Ah, the memories...

No, not "going to hell," just not reaching the highest level of enlightenment which leads to nirvana.

Wondering just where I am in this bizarre pantheon...
Well, dang. I couldn't open the page. Jesus, however, wouldn't be on the list. See, Jesus wasn't actually a Christian, He was a Jew. His followers are Christian because the follow Jesus called Christ.
Like I said, I couldn't see the list, but if the likes of Hinn are on it, then I'm scared. I'd hate to think frauds like him have more than just the nominal influence. As far as I know right now, he only influences other Christians, and really a relatively (in comparison to the entire group of Christians) few of them. Men like Robertson, and, unfortunately Bush the younger, have far more influence and are far more scary.

Hinn and his ilk actually have much much more influence on those who have not found religion or do not consider themselves followers of the Christian faith. Their target, as in any carnival hustler, is the seeker. People who are seeking something in their life are most vulnerable.
Robertson and GW are influential to the practicing Christian due to "being on the same side". Most people will be willing to believe someone who declares they are of the same heart and mind.
Looking at many of the people on that list I would not even call them Christian in my definition of the word. Hustlers, charlatans, con-men, cult leaders, this I would call many of them.
