I thought of all the guys who like to post about beer in the general forum.

I really liked their 1st movie Super Troopers. In fact, it was IMO one of the funniest movies in years. Then I heard Club Dread was coming out, and I was really anticipating it. Alas, it turned out to be nowhere near the movie Super Troopers was. Disapointed was I. After seeing the previews for Beerfest, it looks like they're taking a step back in the right direction. I've noticed that these guys are like a comedy troupe, like the people from all the 'Waiting for Guffman' series.

I'm not sure which one I prefer; I probably laugh out loud more at "Super Troopers", but I like the references to '80s slasher flicks in "Club Dread". Plus Paxton was great in it.

yeah, I am mildly interested in Beerfest. I did like Supertroopers, and I only saw parts of Club Dread.
Stupid humor gets me though, so I'll probably see this. :o

"Damnit! I did not rip off Margaritaville! I wrote Pinacolodaberg 10 years before he ever released that piece of crap!!"
...or something like that. I swear, that's one of the funniest lines in a movie ever.

I really liked their 1st movie Super Troopers.
Super Troopers was actually their second movie. Their first movie was Puddle Cruiser, which came out in 1996.
As for Beerfest, I'm planning to see it.

As a fan of the Howard Stern Show, I'll ski this movie and wait for Artie Lang's Beer League instead.:smirk:

Has anyone seen Puddle Cruiser? Any thoughts?

Puddle Cruisers doesn't compare to the other movies they've made very well. I think it is amusing but they aren't as good on camera and some of the stuff doesn't really work that well in the movie. It's got a good premise and is well written just not performed very well.
I'm really looking forward to Beerfest. I loved Super Troopers and I think Club Dread is great because how well it mocks all of the cliches in slasher movies and does it so easily. I also liked what they did with Dukes of Hazzard. Plus there is nothing better than brainless comedies to make you laugh.

Beerfest is going to be great. I loved Super Troopers and Club Dread, which I thought was better than most of the scary movies. I never saw Puddle Cruisers, I might check it out, if I can find it.

Funny flick, with a number of references to previous Broken Lizard films, and any movie featuring the line, "Get bent, Umlaut!" can't be all bad...
... but, like "Club Dread", it still has stretches where you can't help noticing that it ain't as funny as it could/should be.
Best of all: the guys playing the Germans, who steal the movie wholesale.
