I'm signed up. Had some questions--it looks like we're counting only one QB this year instead of two, instead we get a 3rd RB or 4th WR? Can you sum up any changes for us, O Mighty Commish?
Thanks.

yeah, that looks about right. I had to adjust my rankings since last year I was caught short a QB so I ranked them higher this year. :)
It looks like we get 3 WR, 2 RB and a flex position that can be either.

I went the other way this year, ranking RBs higher than I did last year since in 2005 mine were pretty inconsistent. QBs tend to be fairly consistent across the board, but there can be a big dropoff in production between the top 5 or 10 RBs and the next echelon. If we're playing 2 RBs, with the option for a third in the flex position, I definitely want one of the big producers.
I just wanted to be clear that this year we're only playing 1 QB, since that makes a big difference in drafting. Also, how many players will we draft total? It wasn't really clear on the site.

Hey negs, didn't mean to not respond right away.
Here is what we have:
1 QB
3 WR
2 RB
1 TE
1 W/R "flex" position
1 K
1 DEF
and...5 bench guys. I actually had it at 6, but that seems a bit much to me. (though if you guys want six, I'm cool with changing it back)
That makes a total of 15 people you'll be drafting. Yahoo had this cool new option this year where I could copy the roster positions from any previous league I've played, and I took this from a Xanga league I'm in. I decided to drop the extra QB as I remember it leading to some really overinflated scores at points last year, especially since we had, what, 12 teams?
This should keep the scores at more reasonable levels and keep things more competitive across the board.
Also, there's only 2 RB vs. 3 WR for the very reason you said. There's only a handful of super productive backs, while there's a slightly larger handful of super productive wide outs.
That said, all of these settings are perfectly open to change if you guys want things differently. Just let me know, and keep checking in when your pre-draft rankings are done. I should get the draft rolling in a day or two.

Only problem I have is 3WR and 2RB AND a flex position seems a bit much. I would prefer 2 and 2 plus a flex.
Still, it's not a game-breaker and I can go either way. Let's just keep it as is. With only 8 teams, there should be plenty of players to go around.

I agree with Omi. 2RB, 2WR, and a flex would be easier to manage. (And it would require us to make tough decisions come game day, which is part of the fun/frustration of fantasy football.)
But if everyone else prefers keeping it as is, no problem. As long as I don't have to manage things, I'm happy.
Can you e-mail us with the draft date when you have it set, so we can make last minute-changes? Or set it now for sometime the 5th or 6th? I'm going to be out of town for Labor Day, no net access. Teams don't make final rosters until the 1st, I think, and that information might prove helpful in setting draft preferences.

Sorry to those who wanted to join, but our eight team league is set (with the roster spots changed to two RB/two WR and a flex.) and drafted!!
And on paper, I have a team that looks to have been built by God himself.
Which means it's going to suck incredibly.
But not as incredibly as Jarrod's team.
Those are the rules, of course.
Go look at your rosters! Go Go Go!

Can I get a whooooooa Adam?!
:D
And how about a "holy SHIT Negs!" I've been playing fantasy football for seven or eight years or more now, and have never seen a football team score 142 points in a week. Good going!
See you all next year?
Or more correctly...next month for baseball?

My team started out strong but fizzled and went down hill after Larry Fitzgerald, Eli Manning & Deuce McCallister all went into the crapper.
Oh well, congrats to the winners and people who ended strong.
See you in the baseball league!

Dude, you ever wonder why the password to our leagues is always what it is?
It's not just wishful thinking, you're part of a prophecy Jarrod. :D

That was pretty badass, wasn't it? If only I'd started Bulger last week instead of Brady, I'd be sitting here with the winner's trophy. Oh well, it's only appropriate for how my season went. Congrats, Adam .. for this year.
