LOL I guess I got all of your attns by switching the Main CSS, right?

I will be switching back to the Default Style shortly but by doing it, I'm letting everyone know that new styles are on the way.

All you need to do to switch styles:

-Go to your User CP panel
-Click on Options
-Select style preference.

Damn, I gues that wasn't a tab of aspirin I took, I really gotta label my stash...

People should remember that they could inadvertently see SPOILERS revealed without swiping when using the new stylesheets, as many people use white script to hide them. With the fancy purple SciFi stylesheet, you would see that white lettering. User beware, is all I'm saying.

Monic
01-30-2006, 01:38 PM
I will change that setting, Neglet.... thank you.

Monic
01-30-2006, 01:43 PM
Ohh... I thought there were "spoiler box" like quote. There is nothing I can't do then. :(

Thanks for the warning, Neglet.

DarkJedi

I've switched it back to the 1 default style just now.

If everyone wants the first CSS made for us, they can go into their User CP panel. Click on Options...pan down and switch from default skin to Sci Fi skin(purplish).

Monic
01-30-2006, 05:31 PM
There is nothing I can do with the stylesheet to solve the spoiler problem, but I'm trying to find another solution. I will keep you posted.

Monic
01-30-2006, 06:07 PM
Just created a spoiler box.

To use it, just use the [/SPOILER*] tags without the *, and put the text in between.

We certainly do appreciate the help, Monic.

Everyone, the new Spoiler tags will be important to start using so that everyone can choose their own Forum Style skins in the future.

I know alot of people used spoilers as just writing it in the white color but now that colors can be changed as our Monic makes more styles, then it's possible that not everyone will have the white background in the future.

ohhhhh!!!! Thank you so much for the spoiler tags!!! They'll come in handy in the Lost forum!

Blech! :p

I like purple, but that sci-fi skin...

Can you bring back the "Alien 2 colors" skin that was on the old boards?
The black screens with brightly colored fonts appealed to my eyes much better. Like I was posting in a board designed by a Brite Lite toy. :)

Monic
01-31-2006, 06:26 AM
Traz.... I recovered an Alien CSS that I did on the old board, I think it is the one you are talking about. If not, I will try to recover the CSS at the old board, but I don't know if I will be able.

Anyway, it will be possible to work something together. :)

They should rename the Sci-Fi skin the Prince skin...

Monic

Traz, I just finished the stylesheet based on the old "Alien 2 colors". Search for "StyleBlack", and tell me what you think. :)

As many of you already may know, our Monic has been working on CSS styles and colors for us....of which I am incredibly grateful.

Getting CSS colors would have been a bit of a problem as in comparison with the UBB styles we had at the old boards. Thankfully, she has helped out.

So far in just two days, she has made 4 style or different color themes.

They are:

-Style LOTR
-Style Xmen
-Style Black
-Style Sci Fi.

If you will click on the main index page.....go down to the bottom left of the Index page, you will see a taskbar for Quick CSS. There you can click on any of them and test them out.

Again, Monic, we really appreciate you helping us out.

Actually, that quick style chooser seems to be at the very bottom left of most pages, including this thread.

Any page then.

And I'm opened to suggestions for new styles or modifications of the ones already done. :)Is it possible, then, to get something approximating the old boards 'desert' setting, which was a sort of yellow/beige combination?

Monic
02-01-2006, 01:28 PM
No problem, Deacon. :) I will retrieve the old CSS and work with its colors. There is also another soft one from the old board that I want to do here.

Monic
02-02-2006, 07:07 AM
Deacon, the Desert style is done... look for "StyleDesert" in the style options. :)

Deacon

It seems a little brighter than the previous one. But great work, though. Gracias!

Monic
02-02-2006, 10:50 AM
Strange, because it is the exact same color numbers. Well... stranger things happened. You're welcome.

Rowanberry
02-02-2006, 11:21 PM
Also the LOTR theme looks a bit brighter than on on the old forums, but in this case, it's an improvement. Thanks, Monic.

Monic
02-03-2006, 06:08 AM
Thanks. And I agree Rowan, when I did the LOTR colors, I also noticed the improvement, more easy to read, although I cannot say why.

In fact, one thing changed with this new board: I have way more freedom here to work with the colors; parts of the page are less linked CSSly speaking; in English, I can change the color of a part without changing another part. Maybe that's what gives the brighter feeling.

And furthermore, from what I quickly saw (although I didn't look at it closely yet), if necessary, it could change some CSS class names on the page, what could give me even more freedom.

KingVoyeur
02-06-2006, 08:20 AM
Is there maybe a Spider-man coloring on the way, some red and blue. Or maybe a Batman one, some black and gray?

Monic
02-06-2006, 08:57 AM
It can be, if you want to. :)

neglet
02-06-2006, 10:28 AM
Ooo, I like the "sky and clouds" style you've worked up. Although on my screen it's more "ocean and surf"--teal, not blue. Very purty.

Monic
02-06-2006, 11:11 AM
I know, Neglet, but I kept the same skin name as at the old board. That's my favorite, that's the one I use. :D

neglet
02-07-2006, 11:33 AM
I am noticing with the "sky and clouds" skin that I can't distinguish hyperlinked text from regular text unless I actually roll my cursor over it and get the underlining.

Monic
02-07-2006, 11:39 AM
Yes... all the styles (except the default ones) are like that. But I can change it if it's a problem.

Monic
02-07-2006, 12:42 PM
KingVoyeur, the Spiderman and Batman styles are up now. Is that what you wanted?

neglet
02-07-2006, 01:01 PM
I almost feel like I should ask for a girly pink style sheet, if only to balance out all the macho themes on offer. :hugs:

Monic
02-07-2006, 02:22 PM
 I was already thinking about it!! :p

KingVoyeur

If this needs to be mentioned in a separate thread,
then please make it so. :ohwell:
But is there any way to change those bulletin board icons
that appear on the left side of the forums page to something else?
Just seeing an icon of an image with an extra paper stuck to the board
doesn't tell me right away that there are new posts in that forum.

Maybe if they resembled street lights, or colored discs, or something.

I dunno. Anything other than those ugly looking blocks on the left. :dunno:

DarkJedi
02-16-2006, 01:14 PM
Well, it should be an extra paper with a orange background to tell you there are new posts there , Traz.

They can be changed but it would take alot more effort because the icons need to be able to fit with all styles we use...as well as within the template coding to show the difference between a new post since your last session and no new posts since your last session. That's going through alot of codes in each seperate template.

I can tell you that I am looking into it for a more "custom" look but I want it to be unique to our website if we change it. If you go check out Chuds boards, they use sewer caps that match their sewer theme for Nick's site.

I'll just say "I'm looking into it.".

Bokchoi Cowboy
02-16-2006, 01:33 PM
they use sewer caps that match their sewer theme for Nick's site.

So what would we use for icons then? An picture of an empty gutter for the "no new posts" and for the "new posts" one a picture of a gutter with some drunk lowlife laying in it while playing with himself?

Queen Mae

Would it be possible to have a skin that uses pale warm colors? Maybe either FFCC99 or FFFF99 for the post backgrounds. And then either ff6666 or ff6633 as the accent color...... or you know, whatever you think works best :o

KingVoyeur
02-22-2006, 12:04 PM
So are there any more styles on the way? Perhaps a Supes style of red, blue and yellow? Just curious...

Monic
02-22-2006, 07:02 PM
I was waiting for suggestions....

It is certainly possible, Queen Mae. And no problem, KingVoyeur. I will work on it as soon as I will find a few minutes free. :)

Look at StyleOrange and tell me what you think?

neglet

Ow! My brain hurts!

Where's our girly pink sheet? A nice gentle pink with rose and raspberry, maybe a hint of fuschia.

Monic
02-23-2006, 07:56 AM
I just did it, Neglet. I had all the colors ready since last week, but never found the time to do it.

Look for StyleGirly and tell me what you think? :p

Wonderful! I want to go out and buy some shoes!! :smirk: Merci!

Queen Mae
02-23-2006, 11:18 AM
Something about the style orange is off.... the colors need to be softer and I think that yellow is a bit too bright. The stylered is definitely growing on me. I wasn't sure what I thought of it at first, but after using it for a couple of days I've decided that I love it!

neglet
02-23-2006, 11:23 AM
"StyleGirly" looks awesome with your avatar, Mae. You just need the matching bag and shoes!

Monic
02-23-2006, 11:30 AM
Queen Mae, let me re-work it a little.

Neglet....

Queen Mae
02-23-2006, 11:51 AM
There very amusing (or pathetic) thing is that after reading that, Negs, I considered going to my closet to see if I had any shoes that matched the stylesheet.

*sigh*

I do have a pair of red knee high boots that match the stylered.

I feel like that Calvin and Hobbes cartoon where he finds himself alone on the playground with Susie because all the boys had signed up to play baseball. Unfortunately, because of aggressive lawyers protecting copyright laws, I can't find a copy of it. :(

Calvin: Oh no! I am in COOTIE CENTRAL. I haven't had my shots.
Susie: Relax. Stupidity produces antibodies.

I hear ya, Omi. Where's a G.I. Joe Camo style when you really need it? Hell, maybe even some kind of Transformers or He-Man style....

Oh, please. One pretty pink style sheet in the midst of "XMen," "Batman," "Spidey," "SciFi," and "LOTR" and you get all in a tizzy? Bring the smelling salts.
