Another overlooked gem, this movie was really "dark" for an animated movie, and it has been mostly ignored (in my opinion). There are some spectacular sequences in this movie, and the soundtrack is just special. Some really great songs are on that soundtrack, so if you don't like the film, at least listen to the songs in it.

This was one of the first DVDs I bought when I got a DVD player. I first saw it when I rented it, and I liked it so much I went out and bought the soundtrack the next day. Great animated film, good voice cast, more adult than most American animated films. Highly recommended!

It was an awesome movie...I took my younger brother and he loved it. I don't know why but it had some serious Star Wars vibes to me. And the Lit song "I'm in over my head" was a cool jam back in the day too!

Its still a "cool jam." Whatever happened with Lit, anyway? They put out two really excellent albums and then seem to have faded away.

An article written in O.C. Weekly (http://www.ocweekly.com/music/music/lit-up/25499/) a few weeks ago, about Lit.

This is an underrated gem; Fox didn't market it properly, and it led to the death of Fox Animation. It has a good story, some really creative visuals (Earth go boom!), good voice work, and a kickass soundtrack. I saw this in theaters with Jr. (he was 6) when it came out, and made sure to get the DVD. Still watch it every once in a while, it's a fun flick.

A great film. Surprisingly dark for an animated film, but with some really great set pieces, especially when he flies the ship for the first time amongst the whale like creatures in space! I need to see it again in fact.
I seem to remember seeing Disney's 'Treaure planet' and thinking it must have been inspired by Titan as it had a very similar feel.
As for the music, 'Cosmic Castaway' by Electrasy is a superb song and my favourite from the film, although I really like Electrasy anyway so maybe I'm biased!

That song is great. I love it.

I started listening to the soundtrack again after reading this thread last Thursday and I'm still hooked on it! Favs are "Over My Head" - Lit, "Cosmic Castaway" - Electrasy, "Not Quite Paradise" - Bliss, "My Turn to Fly" - The Urge, and "Karma Slave" - Splashdown.

That is one great soundtrack CD, and just completely overlooked in my opinion. I bought it before I got the film itself!

So guess what Fox played this afternoon. :)
It's been a few years since I last saw this. Titan A.E. really is a very good overlooked movie, with a great soundtrack.
