About what? This story, and it is the same at Yahoo news, is about the Syrian police, and I quote from the BBC article,
A terrorist operation targeted the US embassy. Security forces have brought the situation under control," said Interior Minister General Bassam Abdel Majid on state television.
3 guys tried to get a car bomb through to the U.S. Embassy, but were stopped by the Syrian authorities. By "stopped," I mean they've joined Allah in the afterlife.
This is a simple news story of events without any more context than that. There isn't anything I can see that would generate debate or confusion.

About terrorism in general as it is the most divisive subject on this, or any forum generally.
Good God man, you don't seriously expect people to stick to debate within the confines of the posted article do you ? Dear me, no ! :smirk:

Well, I've seen threads that started out to discuss the performance of an actor in a film end up talking about crack whores. And I don't know what you mean by "divisive." The last time I checked, except for terrorists themselves, we all agree it is B A D.

There's a switch...the Canadian Embassy was targetted before the American one...and Ann Coulter's an idiot. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84EjWeTMBZs)

Crack is wack. :)
Screw crack..Drink redbull...It gives you wings!!!
The only thing we need now is Bark the "Thread De-railer" to chime in. :)
I can't force my superpower. It has to happen naturally.
Incidently, even if I could derail this baby right now, the honor would still go to you or kah, as your posts have nothing to do with the topic. :D

As much as I hate to bolster her case, Coulter was probably confused; thousands of Canadians were in Vietnam--as volunteers.
So from a certain point of view, Canada, as a nation, did send troops to Vietnam. Just not the Canadian government. In much the same way that America, the nation, sent volunteers to fight with Canada and Britain in WWII, pre-Pearl Harbour.
And we did have a few exchange soldiers in Iraq from the start. And we have about 2,300 in active combat operations in Afghanistan, for reasons that continue to baffle me. :dunno:
Wait . . . some Canadians fought in Vietnam voluntarily? That explains a lot.
