Think about it. When Brosnan took over from Dalton it was 1994. The internet barely existed. And when Dalton took over from Moore opinion was even more difficult to gauge. This is actually the first James Bond actor changeover where vocal people, minorities or otherwose, can bring their opinion to the masses.

I recall something about a million monkeys and a million typerwriters.

That's the thing. The problem with the Internet is that it's given rise to this self-righteous whining that "I'm entitled to my opinion, and it's as valid as anyone else's." Well, no, it isn't. You wouldn't value a plumber's opinion if you were considering having heart surgery. And just because you own a keyboard and a modem, that doesn't make you the foremost expert on who the next James Bond should be.

I didn't like the idea of Daniel Craig. In fact I recall posting here when his name came up along with Julian McMahon's for consideration and I referred to them as "these two clowns." You know what? It may still be premature to say but based on what we've seen so far I think Craig will be a great Bond. So here's three words you almost never hear from an Internet person - I WAS WRONG. :)

Heh heh heh heh... ah, The Simpsons.

May I offer also this deleted scene from the episode "$pringfield," where Homer is dealing at a blackjack table...

James Bond: "I'll take a hit, dealer."
(Homer deals him a card)
James Bond: "Joker... you were supposed to take these out of the deck."
Homer: "Oh, sorry. Here's another."
James Bond: "What is this card? 'Rules for Draw and Stud Poker'?"
Blofeld: "What a pity, Mr. Bond."
(Bond is dragged out by Jaws and Oddjob)
James Bond: "But it was Homer's fault! I didn't lose, I never lose! Well, at least tell me the details of your plot for world domination!"
Blofeld: "Oh, I'm not going to fall for that one again..."
