I figured, with the buzz Infinite Crisis is gathering, it's about time to start a new thread about DC's "One Year Later", where we can speculate about what will happen and of course, reveal truths and maybe even some half-truths as we lead up to the jump.

In case you've been living under a rock, at the conclusion of Infinite Crisis, the DC Universe will jump ahead one year with the weekly (Yes, weekly) comic series "52" filling in all the gaps.

Of course, I would like to point out that, there will probably be spoilers involved in discussion. Please mark them accordingly! :D

*SPOILERS*

I was glancing around the DC website when I noticed this. It's a spoiler, because we now know that Tim Drake will survive the Crisis and retain his Robin persona. But there enters a new costume in the fray.

Costume really reminds me of the Tim Drake costume from Batman: TAS. It also appears that the black in his costume, will be coloured to give it a slight green tint as opposed to pure black.

*MAJOR SPOILERS*

Also, if you look at April's ROBIN cover, it appears that Cassandra Cain will sadly not make it out of either the Crisis or the followup alive.

I'd been so wrapped up in the current Infinite Crisis that I forgot all about the One Year Later event...

I'd heard a rumor that the current Superman title was going to flip back to it's original numbering (like many Marvel titles) with #650. Now, if memory serves, didn't the original Superman series become The Adventures of Superman to make room for a relaunch after Crisis on Infinite Earths?

I can't wait to see how this all turns out and how DC plans on changing things. Since they're going One Year Later, I guess this means there won't be a major overhaul and relaunch of their key titles like they did back in '86. I am alos debating my ability to keep up with the 52 series and not go broke...

Yeah, Superman will return to it's original numbering. Why? I don't know. Maybe Kal-L will replace Kal-El? Or maybe they just think that the Man of Steel should be in the 600's, because Superman shouldn't have less issues than Batman. He's Superman dammit!

There aren't many major relaunches. According to Wizard:

*Minor Spoilers*

JLA will relaunch with a new roster and The Flash will start anew with what most people assume will be a new Scarlet Speedster.

Just to clear it up for you all, the DC universe jumps ahead 1 year between issue's #5 and #6 of Infinite Crisis and the 52 series that starts after IC is to show what happned in that year between IC issue's #5 and #6 and why everything is the way things were at the start of IC #6 and why the things the way things are in the OYL titles

I'm looking forward to Nightwing #118 OYL. From the looks of things Nightwing is gonna really be changed from the events of IC. But is this Nightwing Dick Grayson?

Now that they've started releasing the OYL books, what do you think so far? I am confused by the suggestions that some of the characters may not be the originals. Is this part of the set-up for the next "Big-Event" (I hope not), or is this something that really works?

it's just something to set up 52. But don't look for too many things to be radically different. example, if Batman isn't Bruce Wayne, you'd probably be safe to assume that it's Dick Grayson. Or Nightwing will be Jason Todd if he ain't Dick. Nothing to radical like what's happened with Blue Beetle, where a new character will be introduced as that hero.

From what I've read Bruce is Bats and the Nightwing in The Outsiders is Dick, BUT the Nightwing in New York is Jason. Nothing confirmed though.

The OYL's I have read (DETECTIVE, OUTSIDERS, JSA) are confusing but at least interesting enough that I WANT to know what is going on with the characters.

I enjoyed Detective Comics, but I am a little put off by the many refrences to things past that obviously refer to the "52" series. If it were a casual mention once, I would let it go, but every other page has a reference to some mysterious thing in the past. Oh well, can't wait to see where they go with this.

Immortal1982

I think thats the point, cause They are refering to 52 at this point as "A year without Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman".

I'm looking at the obvious OYL titles ive seen so far.

JSA: The team hasn't had a full meeting in a year, And now all the team members are being tormented by the Gentleman Ghost. Sand and Hourman are MIA from the team, and Green Lantern and Thunderbolt are a little odd given they're magic-based powers(sorry 5th dimensional imp thing notwithstanding).

Birds of Prey: I read the Issue(Due out on Wednesday) and i don't want to spoil it but heck one of the new members is Lady Shiva . I think SImone is building a real interesting title out of the OYL.

Teen Titans: After Reading 33, you get a good setup for OYL and Infinate Crisis 6, as The Final Image you see is Nightwing and Superboy standing in front of The Tower weapon, and all the heroes/villians tied to the tower.

Well, picked up Superman OYL.

*SPOILERS*

It seems, that Clark Kent is... *Gasp*...human. when there's trouble, Supergirl comes to the rescue. so that tells me that Superboy(Conner Kent) is MIA.

Interesting.

Hawkgirl was interesting....

Carter is still alive, apparently, but he looks to be in hiding. Kendra has changed a bit and now wears nth-metal while not in costume.Someone is apparently out to kill her.

JSA: Classified.... Wow.....

Vandal Savage only has days to live, his daughter Scandal rejects him in a badass way, and he wants one final glorious act of vengence, and he wants Alan Scott. (Not in that "brokeback mountain" kind of wway you perverts! :D

all in all not some bad stuff for set-up. I'll have to read Legion later tonight though.

**SPOILERS**

Micheal Atkins is no longer Commissioner of Gotham Police. While it doesn't explain why, I think it'll probably be explained in 52. But the big news is, that Jim Gordon has come out of retirement and taken back his job as Commissioner.

So that means a better working relationship between the cops and Bats.

It seems Bats, Robin and Nightwing have taken the past year to "bond" with each other. To build or rebuild the trust between then as they assumingly traveled the globe.

Robin is framed for the murder of Batgirl, although the body was not of Cassie Cain. As Tim begins to search for answers, it appears that Cassie is following Tim. Perhaps, she's in trouble and is letting Tim(who's the better detective) find the answers for her?
