Negs, what did you put in the Wolverine's morning juice this morning? Threaten them with your paddle?
My goodness, they are tearing up in South Bend this afternoon. Notre Dame(Ranked 2 since the Longhorns lost the spot last week in that abysmal performace against Buc Eyes) fans must be having kittens right now.. kittens with razor sharp claws and 2 inch fangs dripping with battery acid for blood. The irish will be drinking tonight.

Oh Lord, was that ever fun to watch! I actually missed the first couple minutes; we were spending the day at my uncle's annual cider-making party and I was wrangling rugrats. After the two teams exchanged INT returns for TDs, I was dreading another close game, but with M up 34-7 just before half I could relax and enjoy the slaughter! The defense looked great, Henne found the deep passing game, and the Irish looked flat.
If Michigan continues to play like this for the rest of the season, we could end up with two undefeated teams playing for the Big Ten title at the end of November. It makes me drool just to think of it.

When's the new rankings coming out? Tomorrow?
One thing's for sure, Wolverines won't be ranked 11 this week and Notre Dame sure as hell won't be ranked 2. :D

Michigan is 6th, and ND fell to 12/13.

Don't know if I agree with those rankings but since when have I ever agreed with their rankings.
Seems to me Michigan should be ranked above West Virginia (schedule?) and Auburn.

See, this is what bugs me about the polls: they start out completely speculative with preseason rankings, then refuse to drop anyone down unless they lose, no matter what kind of quality wins a lower-ranked team might get.
If we get to last game of the season with Michigan and WV (or Louisville, for instance) both undefeated, and Michigan has a lower rank in the polls, that doesn't seem fair to me, because Michigan has a stronger schedule. I'd love to see a #1 OSU v. #2 UM game, but unless Michigan blows out teams like Iowa and PSU, that won't happen if the current #2-5 teams don't lose.
It just irritates me that teams (any team, not just Michigan) get penalized in the polls for low preseason expectations. I suppose that's why they factor in some of the computer rankings in the BCS, too, but it just makes me wish they'd do the polls the same way as the BCS: don't rank anyone until four or five weeks into the schedule, when you're judging on games, not speculation.

I think you're right on alot of counts when it comes to rankings. For years, I've had to endure the Longhorns getting the same treatment behind lesser teams with weaker schedules.
Still, I think most people in the NCAA industry would agree that the top bowl game would be awesome if it was the rivals of Buc Eyes-Wolverines. If you both go undefeated, I bet it will be your two teams in the top bowl game due to the fact that they know that matchup would bring awesome press and ratings.

Well, except that UM-OSU is scheduled to be played Nov. 18 in Columbus. With the advent of OT, only one of them could finish the season undefeated.

And it's going to be the Buckeyes.

I meant undefeated up to that game in November....Oops. :D
Still, if Usc or West Virginia loses a game as well, it doesn't mean we wont see a OHS-UM top bowl game. Yes, I know...highly unlikely what with the damn polls.
I seriously doubt West Virginia's going to a top bowl game even if their undefeated throughout. If they do, there's something dead in denmark, not rotten.

No kidding. Jr. and I turned on the game with 8:40 to go and he said, "why bother, we know MSU's gonna win, ND needs three scores." And I said, you never know....
Stupid Spartans. Hope they throw crap interceptions like that when we play them. :)
Oh, and Badgers? We don't need no stinkin' Badgers!
