Would I need to leave the house at all if I was equipped like that? :smirks:

You might be safer indoors...

Anyone having any problems finding the forums under the new format or is the Subforum descriptions good enough?

Haha I don't mean to be messing with your head, Miss Trix. :)

As for the new format changes, I'm going to use this style as a testing stage for forums that are getting no traffic anymore. After consulting with other webmasters and hearing peoples thoughts over sluggish forums in the "Vote for the Superhero" thread, this test will be useful to see which forums can be centralized and active(much like our Bond forum) while seeing which other forums can't last much longer under its current traffic.

Just a testing stage to see which forums thrive on its own and which forums can't handle being a seperate forum due to no posters or traffic.

Looks good, dillweed.
Forgot about the avatar in the Potter forum, but I still hope they require a topless scene in movie 7!

I don't see anything different, just the style I usually have chosen. (Sky and Clouds, which are shades of teal for some reason.)

A thought...I quite like having all the subforums visible from the main page, to tell the truth. As an example, the only television forum I actually frequent is 24, being the only show I actually watch anymore. With the forum on the main page, I can see if anyone has posted there just by looking to the left. With it on another page, I don't really want to go look within all the TV stuff every time I go through, particularly now in the off-season when there aren't any new episodes being made and the traffic is low. I know I can see the last post made within the mega-forum, but if someone has posted something to 24, then 5 minutes later a Lost post was made, I'll never know.

Call it laziness, but there's my two cents. I'd prefer leaving it like it was.

I agree. I'd rather be able to see all the subforums, rather than just the category. Not only do I have to check to see if there's a post in one of the forums I care about, often the icon doesn't reflect the fact that I've already checked the forums and still shows new posts. :dunno:

Try the "New Posts" button, folks. It makes browsing for new comments much simpler.

Yes, but then we have the problem of seeing ALL new posts when I just want to see if there's a new one in one forum. I'd rather be able to scan down the main page and see if there's anything new.

Update

The testing period of gauging traffic for certain forums is now over. The Tv forum index is back on the main page.

Lotr and Starwars forums have been combined into our Science Fiction & Fantasy forum. This newly combined forum will remain a focus for Hollywood's fantasy movie franchises and products coming out such as Eragon, His Dark Material, Star Wars, Hobbit, etc etc. Strider and Negs welcome any and all discussions in there as these franchises get going.

The Bond and Harry Potter forums have been put back on the main index.

Due to little to no traffic, there was no need to have Authors Preface stand by itself so it too has been merged into the Book Forum that has now been called "Literary Corner" by Negs. Does this mean that writing fiction is no longer allowed? No, it does not. It just means it goes into the newly combined "Literary Corner" forum.

Last but not least, a new Heroes thread has been installed for everyone who watches the show and would like to write their thoughts about the new series, plotlines, characters and future of this show.

Talk to you later.
