Did anybody else watch the season premiere of Veronica Mars last night?
I thought it was most excellent, and it set up some interesting questions for the season. Veronica was as witty as ever, and the supporting characters were great as well. I'm looking forward to another great season. :D
I especially liked the Battlestar Galactica references. Veronica saying "Frak" a couple times was quite amusing.

Though I'm not into Veronica Mars, I did think about giving a try.
The bad news?
It tanked in its new timeslot.
Veronica Mars saw no increase in ratings last night.
O_O;;
Veronica Mars is now on the unwelcomed, "Death Watch."
If it's ratings do not improve this month, it will be canned.

I caught the show last week via AOL. (Found a link somewhere)
Loved it, but I got hooked eariler this year.
I agree the timeslot is problematic, but I don't know where it should go, either.

I think that the TV ratings system is complete bunk. It's too bad the networks pay so much attention to the ratings.
Also, I wonder if Veronica's ratings suffered because the premiere episode has been available online for a while. Plus, it's pretty hard to get people to jump onboard midship anymore. It used to be that you would start watching a show in the middle beause there wasn't really a way to catch up. Now everyone just thinks, "I'll wait for the DVD and then I'll start watching." Sadly, that probably leads to poorer ratings.

Plus, here, with the baseball game at FOX last night, Veronica Mars aired around 2AM.
It was a good episode, setting the plots for this season.

Last season got so crazy, so many red herrings I thought about just scrapping it...but this season
This season is awesome. The shorter mystery arcs combined with the hilarious Miss Bell make this show one of the best on television (totally destroying the awful season of Gilmore Girls that is on)

I'm down with S3 as well, except for the slowed down intro song. Bell's looking uber-hot as well.

Yeah, the slowed down intro song would be okay if it actually went anywhere. It seems like it is forever building up to something...that never actually kicks in.
I'm liking this season as well. I was glad to see Cliff last week. He is good for a laugh or two just about every time he shows up. "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!" :D
As for Gilmore Girls, I have to say that it isn't as bad as I was fearing. It's been subpar, but this season has been getting better with each episode, IMHO.

Dude, don't diss Gilmore Girls. It is home to some of the best comedic characters on TV. Kirk is especially funny.

So anybody else still watching this? I think that barring Heroes, Veronica Mars has been the best show on the air this season.
So, we finally found out who the rapist was. It wasn't too surprising, although it was nice that it didn't quite come out of left field this time. It was actually someone who had been accused of the crime earlier. I don't think that's happened yet.
I can't wait for this to start again. They did a good job of wrapping up a bunch of the plot threads while opening up a couple more for the second half of the season. Now we have a murder on our hands...

I also think this has been a good season overall so far. But one of the things that bugs (and has bugged) me is that regular characters just disappear for weeks at a time. When was the last time we saw Mac? 3 episodes ago? 4? I't s a minor quibble, but a valid one.
Oh, my money's on militant nose-ring chick.

I'm kind of hoping that the Criminology professor or his TA did it using Veronica's perfect murder paper as a blueprint. However, this seems a bit unlikely as Veronica would probably recognize any similarities.

Well, I'm not up to you kids on season three yet, but I have been going through the season one dvd at an alarming rate, and loving this show!
So I'll be back here to catch up, oh, in a month or 10? :D

Season 1 is awesome. Season two is also great, although a little bit convoluted. However, it also has Charisma Carpenter as a recurring character, so it gets points for that.

The only thing that I know about the show, really, is that the ads keep teasing that Veronica Mars may be killed.
Seems a little silly to me. Does anyone think that's a possiblity?

Let's see...the show is called Veronica Mars, so killing off the character who shares the show's name, not a likely scenario. There are tons of great characters on the show, but Veronica ties them all together. There is no way they would kill her off unless the show itself was on the chopping block (which it is not, at least at the moment).

If by "kill her off," they mean have her show up at my house wearing only a trenchcoat for some hot and nasty sexy time, then yes. I hope they kill her off.

Um, yeah, I'm still not quite caught up to this season (6 to go on Season 1) and I can easily tell you that Jack Bauer will be killed on 24 before Veronica Mars gets killed on Veronica Mars.
And seriously? I'm f'n loving this shit. So addictive, so wonderful, and I've caught two moments where they aren't being afraid to remind us that we're watching a TV Show. There was once, in the episode with Anthony Anderson, where Veronica is talking about his character's daughter, and says "We used to be friends, a long time ago."
Which of course segued immediately into the theme song of "A Long time ago...we used to be friends." :D So clever.
And then there was another one where they were showing the "previously on" segment, which ended with Logan at Veronica's door...and immediately started the episode there as well without any kind of jump.
Technically smart, wittily clever, well acted, well written, and yet somehow on UPN/CW? Huh?
And now Alyson Hannigan has arrived, and Veronica found her mom.
The plot thickens, and I'm back to the DVD.

Are you guys still watching this season? I think that it has been quite excellent so far. My only complaint is Logan is a worthless whining brat this year. They've given him nothing to do, and it has gotten really annoying with Veronica and him breaking up one episode, getting back together the next, and breaking up again the next episode.
Seriously people, Logan used to be a fun character, but now he really sucks. I liked him better when he was more "shady", and he got much better dialogue when he was Veronica's enemy. It seems like the only thing he says now is "Sorry, Veronica." When Logan got himself arrested right before the hiatus just to get to Mercer, I thought he would finally get something interesting to do, but they dropped that storyline like it never happened.
Good thing the rest of the show is firing on all cylinders.

So is anyone tuning in tonight see who killed the Dean? I'll definitely be watching. With few exceptions, Veronica Mars has been one of the best shows on this year. It's too bad that nobody seems to be watching.

Sorry, yeah, I watch it all the time, and not just for the hotness factor. I actually like the show very much. I had guessed that Foyle was the killer a while ago, but then they did a good job of leading you to suspect others without it being pointless red herrings. I also liked the coach murder investigation as well.
My only real problem with the show is that the rest of the cast aren't in nearly enough episodes.

Very true. I think the only reason Wallace is still around is because he's been here since the beginning. However, I think Logan has been in the show TOO much. I liked the Valentine scavenger hunt, and I like the Parker plotline thus far, but most of the season he's been a whiney bitch.
Parker and Piz are great additions this year, and Mac is always funny ("Did I say 'crash'? I meant 'bang'."). Wallace is even enjoyable, but I don't think the writers know what to do with folks now that we're in a college setting. It isn't quite as easy to weave everyone in. I think the only "side" character that ben utilized properly is Keith. The scenes between Veronica and him are always great. :D
