I actually missed this episode when it originally aired. It really clears up a lot of questions I had about Hurley's "the numbers are bad" mantra. However, it opens up a lot of doors. Who put the numbers on the original transmission? I know now that the French woman changed the transmission, and that it came from the Black Rock, which we now know is the ship, but who was on the ship? Was it the "others?" Were they Peace Corps, like Goodwin said he was?

What bothered me about this episode, especially on the second viewing, is how Locke completely ignored Hurley when he freaked out about how the numbers were bad. I have a feeling that if it was Jack about to light the fuse, he would have stopped what he was doing to find out more about what Hurley was on about.

It wasn't just that he ignored him, it was like he also knew the numbers were bad and was going to light it anyways. That eppy always bothered me, too. I thought it was strange that Locke was so determined to blow the hatch, no matter what anyone said to the contrary.
