Why did Matt and Teddy describe him as Haitian? I do not recall him saying or doing anything to indicate that he is from Haiti. I don’t think he spoke in Matt’s presences, so his accent didn’t lead him to that conclusion, and as far as his appearance, he could be from the US, Canada, Africa, Great Britain or just about anywhere.

It looks like he creates some kind of buffer that nullifies other people's powers. Maybe it's when he actually concentrates on it and consciously uses it that he can "blank" people like he did with the football player.

Pretty spot on, King Voyeur. It seems that the Haitian can nullify people's powers(if they have any) and people's brains(if they have no power).

Wipe the slate clean..or just stop someone from using their powers but let them retain them. That means the Haitian also has "choice" in terms of controlling his powers. What I mean, it doesn't happen because of his powers. He can control what happens to each person he's around. After all, the cop retained his powers after they came across him.

Also, it seems like the Haitian and HRG man has been working together for a long time....As HRG says in the Homecoming episode, they've been "running into people like you" for 15 years(his conversation to Isaac).....since running into Claire's parents in other words..

Wonder when HRG and the Haitian met up and teamed up. The beginning?

I don't know, I just assumed the Haitian was a psychic who erased memories and possibly the ability to use powers. I don't consider him a sponge or dampener of powers.

It could be that way but it still leaves some questions in the air as far as the Haitian's abilities and the implied "choice" that could be interacting with that ability.

The Haitian didn't erase Matt Parkman's powers. As far as I can tell, he didn't erase Matt's knowledge of Sylar either unless perhaps the only part he erased was Matt running into Sylar at the FBI building complex and what happened with the "shooting" of Sylar.

Matt kept his powers.

The radio active man retained his powers as well....

All that can be said is they got marked whether that's sinister motivations or not from him and his HRG partner.

It seems that he can manipulate other peoples mind. He can render them unconscious, cause partial or total memory loss and stop them from accessing the parts of their mind that controls their power.

I image that he could disrupt someone’s automatic functions and cause them to stop breathing or have their heart stop.

I think he can only block mental powers, Nathan managed to fly away quite handily and we don't know if he blocked Sylar's powers because Sylar was already stopped by Eden.

The three main ways that things fly are; Using wings to life and thrust, like a bird, use wings to life and an engine to produce thrust, like a plane or being lighter than air like a balloon. Nathan doesn’t appear to be using any of these three ways to fly, so he must be using some sort of mental ability.

I think the Haitian has to be within certain proximity for his power to work. My guess is that Nathan flew quicker than they expected and was out of the Haitians range before he could react.

Well, the Haitian can speak, and he seems to have an agenda that does not align as closely with HRGs wishes as HRG might wish. The real question here is: Who is he working for and will he end up helping our intrepid band of heroes?

I think his actions have been relatively contradictory, or at least part of a larger pattern, what with his incomplete wiping of Parkman...
