If you know anything about trying to install dual OS's, you know that you must install Windows first. It will wipe out anything else on the boot sector on install so there is no option. Well, with the new update of Yahoo! Messenger, my homepage (in the case of IE 6.0) or first tab homepage (in the case of 7.0) gets changed to Yahoo.com every time I start it. Does anyone have any idea how I might fix this? It's really pissing me off to the point where I am seriously considering uninstalling Y! Messenger.

Well, I've had to restart IE since I made that post and it stuck this time. I just thought it was too much of a coincidence to happen both here and on my pc at home.

Seriously, Yahoo annoys the heck out of me. It's an eyesore to look at, and I don't like the way it latches on into your system, like a parasite. :romy:
Get rid of Yahoo. Who needs Yahoo.
Do you want a gmail address? I have plenty to give away.

DUDE!
Get Firefox if you dont't have it, and download one of their plugins, it's called Chatzilla.

Then we can do dirty chat all night long while our girlfriends are asleep. :Eyebrow:

Mozilla is indeed a great browser but the never-ending bugs gets kind of old. That said, the new yahoo messenger update hasn't bothered my home page settings for my mozilla browser.

At least every time I've updated my YIM, there's been a very simple solution to the problem that Sickness posted about:
When the installation is ready, in the last dialogue window with the "Finish" button, there are a couple of boxes that are ticked by default. One of them is "Make Yahoo! my home page" or something like that. I just deselect it (as well as all the other options in that box) and, my home page doesn't change.
At least not on Firefox, which is the primary browser I use at home; Opera is the second choice, and IE7 only the third.

I always make sure that such boxes are unchecked. The takeover happened on multiple restarts of the browser after a change of homepage through the Internet Options window.

Could be something in the options on the Yahoo Toolbar? I found that the toolbar, if installed, seemed to overwrite the browser settings.
