In exchange for letting Michaels out of his contract with ABC and ESPN, which are owned by The Walt Disney Co., NBC Universal sold ESPN cable rights to Friday coverage of the next four Ryder Cups, granted ESPN increased usage of Olympic highlights and sold to The Walt Disney Co. the rights to "Oswald the Lucky Rabbit," a character in silent cartoons made by Walt Disney from 1927-28.


Fine by me. I like the team of Madden and Michaels. I'm sure others were hoping for new blood, though.

I like Al Michaels, but I can't stand John Madden. I think the ideal setup for an announce team is to have Al Michaels as the unbiased play-by-play guy, then two guys who are rooting for opposite teams (i.e., one for the Steelers, one for the Seahawks). Then, sit back and let the fireworks fly.
