Is Blade The Series cancelled?

me too... and yes it is canned, this was announced back in October, 2006 i think when the series ended. I for one was surprised by Spike. They claimed it was because of low ratings but nothing on their network ever gets higher than a .3% and they replaced it with pro Wrestling and ST:TNG reruns.
I dont get it.... I watched both the marathons (first half 6 shows, second half 6 shows) and thought it was a cool show despite Blade: Trinity closing out the franchise on a low note.
I'm hoping they release this one on DVD as a box set.

Both wrestling and reruns are cheaper than an original series. They probably figured, if they aren't going to get a greater increase in ad revenue for that time slot, they might as well reduce costs.

Saw some notice that the series is free on iTunes until July. Is that true?

I've been wondering the same thing - and I sure hope not. I loved all the Blade movies - and especially enjoyed watching the TV series every week. It's in my Tivo Season Pass - and I keep waiting to see "upcoming episodes" show up :(
