And I don't mean porn, Jake. I'm talking about those movies that you love, but no one will watch with you.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail- my bf and best friend don't get the humor- they're more into Chris Farley crap than wit

Willow- I know it is cheesy, but I love it! And Val Kilmer is hilarious.

Cleopatra(Liz Taylor)- they all complain it is too long

Bing and Bob "Road" movies- they don't like old movies, either, and complain about watching black and white when we have color

I know, they're stupid. It really hit home when I was sitting in front of the tv watching Arsenic and Old Lace, and they volunteered to go grocery shopping. (That was fine. They took so long I got to watch Abbot and Costello meet the Invisible Man :) )

Usually anything foreign that's not action or horror. (Afterlife, anything by Fellini, etc.)

Who says I watch porn alone?

Erm..I watch most of my movies alone. Sometimes I'll find one the wife cares about, but in general, it's just me. I couldn't get her to watch Batman Begins ferchrissakes!

It's not that she doesn't watch movies -- just not when and what I want to watch. Maybe it's time for Netflix.

Don't feel bad, my dad is in quite a similar situation. My mom hates the theater. The few times we have actually gotten her to go, she ends up in the car reading a book, leaving us in the theater to watch the rest of the movie.

Most samurai movies, Akira Kurosawa films, or Anime movies with subtitles.
The last movie I saw alone was Swimming Pool - what mind twist that was!
I had to go read Roger Ebert's review, and read a few IMDB comments
for the film to be sure I understood what just happened at the end.
:ohwell:

Swimming Pool was had a weird ending, to be sure, but other than that, I know why you watched it alone.

Oh please! It was uncomfortable for THREE reasons:

- one being a tad too young.
- one being WAY too old.
- both were ugly.

And you may not believe me, but I really did look away from a few
scenes till they were over. I just couldn't bring myself to look.
