Raunchy Radcliffe Pictures Upset Parents
Naked pictures of Daniel Radcliffe to promote a new play are causing controversy among fans of the Harry Potter movies. The young star peels off his top half and cuddles up with a topless co-star in the promotional snaps for his London West End run in Equus. The pictures have already become popular among young female fans of the 17-year-old - most famous for his role in the boy wizard franchise. But parents are up in arms and are bombarding Harry Potter fansites with emails. One reads, "We as parents feel Daniel should not appear nude. Our nine-year-old son looks up to him as a role model. We are very disappointed and will avoid the future movies he makes." Radcliffe's spokesperson Vanessa Davies tells British newspaper the Daily Mail, "Daniel does not want to step away from Harry Potter but he does want to show he is a rounded actor capable of very different roles. He has tremendous support from Harry Potter fans." The play, written by Anthony Shaffer, opens in London on February 27.
And, ahem, here is the play in question. (http://www.equustheplay.com/pr/index.php)

I saw these. The boy is just trying to get away from the Harry Potter stero type.
People need to realize this.

Still, it might have been better if he waited until the series was done. I can see where some parents might get upset.
On the other hand I have to confess to a certain degree of hypocrisy because if it had been Emma Watson in those pics, I'd be doing a Snoopy dance right now.
But at least I'm honest in my hypocrisy:Smirk:

I'd be doing a dance, too...but I'd only have one hand free.

Radcliffe will be in his 20s by the time the full series is filmed. He needs to make his break now. It isn't different from what tons of child/teen stars do when they get to their late teens. Jessica Biel did that scanty layout to get off "Seventh Heaven." Melissa Joan Hart did a totally tame bathing shoot suit toward the end of "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." Need we discuss that girl from "Saved By the Bell" 's appearance in "Showgirls?"
I don't know why he chose a part with nudity - live nudity, but his thing to do with as he wishes. Parents need to get a grip. Their children need to understand that "Harry Potter" is not a real person and Daniel Radcliffe is a professional actor. They can handle knowing this.

What I don't understand is how these kids are going to find out about it? If parents and the media weren't making such a big deal about how this play was going to affect children, children would have no idea that Daniel was doing the play.
It's like those crazy people who saw the word "sex" in the Lion King.

Not to sound too much like Jakester but what I want to know is who the yumyum in the black panties playing opposite of him is.:D

Yeah, sure. Every kid in the Harry Potter audience wants to see the play because of Daniel, of course... :anismirk:
But, unfortunately, there are lots of people who perhaps never understand the difference between an actor and a character. :OhWell:

Apparently, Radcliffe knocked it out of the park acting-wise. I hope this has the desired effect on his career post-Potter. I think he's damn good. Grint, too.
Watson, while decidedly hot, seemed to overdo it a bit in the last movie. Perhaps that was intentional, I don' tknow.

Look, this kid is NOT HP. He had every right to do this play, and it sounds as if the reviews are very good. However, this is something he was probably warned about before he took on the HP role, that he'd forever be linked to that role.

I am assuming that the Harry Potter forum is gone.
Well, I wanted to say that I saw a picture of Daniel Radcliff totally naked on the net. This is the play that he is currently in.
Question isn't it wrong to post a picture of a 17 year old totally naked? Isn't consider child pornography?
Will this hurt his future to star in the last picture of the series?

Harry Potter threads are now in the Fantasy/Sci Fi Forum. We're discussing this topic here. (http://www.mania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3200)
(DJ, could you merge this thread over there?)

To be honest I think this nudity will be bonus for his future, but its still disgusting (at least he could go to jym before showing naked body :) )

Rappites, to answer the question you asked on a different thread, no it's not child pornography because age of consent in the UK is 16.

... and to answer the question will it hurt his future as Harry Potter?
No. He just signed to do the final two movies. Filming on movie 6, the Half-Blood Prince, starts this fall. No word yet whether the other child leads (playing Hermione, Ron, and Malfoy) have signed yet.

Rupert Grint has, Emma Watson is still on the bubble, no info about Tom Felton.

I really hope Emma Watson comes back. She's just brilliant as Hermione.

Felton (Draco) and Grint (Ron) have said numerous times that they want to finish the series...Watson is the only iffy question now and it's probably going to be a money issue. They should all bank the past two films, that's my thoughts anyway.
What I can't wait to see is the disconnect between the novel readers and the mainstream audience come the end of HBP movie.
As we all know, nearly all people love a certain teacher ..especially the mainstream movie audience...I'm not sure what's going to happen between the different audiences (book readers & movie watchers whom never read the books) when that happens....And no, I won't mention that...We could have a spoiler discussion later on about that scenario in another future discussion.

Watson definitely not quitting. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/newsid_6460000/newsid_6464000/6464049.stm)

Sheesh. I wonder what her salary is compared to Rupert's and Daniel's? That kid will not have to worry about affording the college of her choice!

Actually my guess would be that her salary was brought up to their level. Men (or boys in this case)usually get bigger salaries except in the #### industry.
