Peter Briggs wrote one version of the original script for this movie. It was trashed, but apparently they kept one or two of his ideas. I am hopeful that this may be a good film, but past history has me a bit worried. They can film some great stuff, then screw it up before the release. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The first one was good, the second should never be seen, the third was ok and pretended the second didn't happen, and Endgame was like a long episode of the series. I was ok with that, though, since the series was a vast improvement (imo) over the movies. I really enjoyed Duncan and Connor's relationship throughout the flick as well, so I have high hopes for the next 3? Highlander movies. I http://www.websmileys.com/sm/love/1273.gif Adrian Paul.

Continuity has never been a high priority in the Highlander universe. The series ignores that parts of the 1st movie, each subsequent movie ignores parts of the others and the series. Even within the series there were many inconsistancies. As much as I loved the original movie and the series the writers could have taken more care in remembering what was what.

I am really hoping that Peter Wingfield has a bigger role in this movie. In fact, I'd love to see the whole focus more on Methos than Duncan.

Snow day today, so I watched it. Overall, I liked it better than Endgame, which had a pathetic Big Bad (plus I thought it was ridiculous that the same small villiage would produce THREE immortals within a few decades). But I didn't hate Endgame like I did the theatrical cut of HL2.

Looking at IMDB, the huge Highlander fans hate this movie, whilst Panzer-Davis says the movie isn't done yet. I dunno. Music's there, all of the FX are complete. It has title and end credits....I don't know what else there is to do, except re-edit it. The end of the movie sucks ass, but up until that point, it's not too bad.

Still..."not too bad" isn't a glowing review.

I went ahead and watched it. It wasn't HORRIBLE. I does look done. I'm hoping that Queen cover is just maybe a temp until they get the official rights to the real version? Everyone on IMDB is going nuts. But seriously, if the producers say this isn't the finished movie, everyone should calm down and wait until sept for the real movie before declaring highlander dead.

I read somewhere that the concept of the trilogy has been dropped dead because the movie was horrible. Something about Adrien Paul no longer having any interest. Disappointing, but I'm still stoked for this one if it ever sees a release.

This is *someone's* cut, though. The soundtrack is in place, the FX are done, the title and end credits are in place....and, apparently, it got on the torrents because the Russian distributor released it legally. It's a viable cut, just not the Producer's Cut.

The problem with the Highlander franchise is that they make a decent movie... THEN the director and producers hack it to death and you end up with something like Endgame.

What I thought sucked about Endgame was Jacob Kell. The entire character sucked. If they'd have had a menacing big bad who came from somewhere other than the same villiage that gave us Connor and Duncan, I'd have probably really liked the flick.

Ick, another Highlander. Featuring the character that SHOULD have died at the end of Endgame. I liked the series, but always felt it a little strange to feature a character you knew was doomed. Still, some great episodes. Endgame should have been a prequel to the first film. I hated it. I will not see this new one, regardless of how good it is. Highlander 1 is the only one I own and the only one i will acknowledge.

The movie was directed by Brett Leonard. The dvd includes a nice tribute in memory of the movies' producer Bill Panzer. For those who have seen the movie ... Well, I wasted 2 hours of my life last night, plus the time it took me to drive back and forth to my parents' house since I don't have cable. :mad:

I was hoping it wouldn't be complete garbage, but it was. I was even hoping I could save those 2 hours (1/2 of which was fucking commercials) by telling myself I was getting to see a movie with the world's hottest man, but the end completely ruined that for me.

Want to know what I really think? I think The Source made Ultraviolet look like Shakespearean drama. Fucking weak.

How bad is it when I couldn't even care when.... (big spoiler if you are planning on watching this steaming pile)
