I've been defending this show for a long time, but I'm starting to feel like this is the worst season they've had so far.
This episode was another "So what" episode for me. I was expecting some big twist after all the buildup to the assassination attempt. I was expecting Logan to say something interesting. My expectations have been raised over past years, and there's nothing so far this season that has blown me away. I enjoyed the first episode, the episode where the bomb went off, and Morris' torture episode. But the rest of the season has been kind of blah for me. 3 out of 11 ain't good.
I'm still watching, I'm just disappointed so far. I hope the second half of the season is a lot better than the first. This show needs to hit its stride soon.

I've liked this season quite a bit. The pace definitely hasn't been as breakneck as the first few episodes, but a lot of interesting things have happened.
I'm interested to see what kind of fallout there is from the bomb exploding this week. Also, shouldn't Jayne Atkinson's character be showing up in LA pretty soon. I remember that she hopped a plane, but I don't remember how long it was supposed to take. I enjoyed her storyline in the first few hours, and I hope she has plenty to do once she shows back up.

I was also thinking it was about time for Buchanan's missus to get back to LA. I imagine the assassination attempt is going to cause chaos for a while; it should keep things interesting.
I think this season's been pretty good so far, not the best but not approaching Kim-in-the-cougar-trap territory. Although I am getting pretty sick of Jack and the bad guys torturing everybody to get their way. You'd think the writers could use a little more imagination to move the story along.

Last season, I found Morris to be one engaging character. he started out interesting this season, but now he is just annoying, dammit.
How many times a day is he going to keep reminding everybody that "Yep. I gave them the detonator." WE GET IT!!!
And Chloe??? Where's the quirkiness and fiestiness? Where's the attitude? Hell, where is the CHARACTER???!!! What have they done with Chloe??? WAIT!! It's NOT CHLOE!!! IT'S A CTU CLONE-MOLE!!!!
Still, the setup is perfect: next week promises to be very interesting.
But here is a thought: this is Day Six. Granted - over the course of a decade. And we have had two Presidents killed, and another one step down for his role in the assasination of one. And now a bomb going off in the President's room.
Just where is America in all of this? At the malls? We see the inklings and the ploys to push for a police state. Talk of keeping the public calm and holding the line at panic.
In trying to imagine the scenarios outlined above, as they pertain to the Presidency alone - NEVER MIND the biological attacks and the two nuclear detonations on US soil - just what would America look like?
Would it look as 'normal' as we see in the show?
I doubt it.

Yeah, but if they started a story arc showing crazy popular response, it would really make this season too imitative of season 2. Neg Jr. and I have been watching that on DVD the past few weeks, and you have a nuclear bomb going off (check) and an internal threat against the president's administration (check). At least this season we have the improbable Bauer family subplot instead of stupid Kim and her encounters with a mountain lion, a survivalist, a freaked-out citizen, and a homicidal employer. (All of which could have been avoided if she'd just told the doctor at the hospital "I've only been working there a few months, but I've noticed my employer hits his wife and today he pushed the little girl" instead of "You don't think it was me?") All in all, I consider this season both an escalation and an improvement on the season 2 storyline.

The last thing I'd call this season is boring. For crying out loud, the first four episodes alone caused more chaos than most shows do in an entire year. I've loved this season so far - especially the involvement with Jack's family. Man, how dysfunctional are they?!? I'm guessing Josh is actually Jack's kid. I'd bet on it.
