They aired the final four episodes consecutively tonight, and as a result of my lovely nap/sick time tonight, I missed more or less all of it. LOVED what I saw, especially the awkward creepiness of Maeby and George Michael getting married, but I definitely need to download all the others and take this in as one last hurrah for the show on Fox.

Anybody else catch it tonight?

Did you read Franklin's shirt? "George Bush doesn't care about black puppets." Just priceless. And the name of Gob's boat - "The C-Word". The final four eps were killer but oh so bittersweet. I can't believe it's over.

I will miss it so.

Great episodes. I wished I had season 3 on DVD RIGHT NOW! It is insane this show has been treated the way it has. AMAZING.

See, I still don't get that argument.
The show hasn't been treated that poorly, overall.
Ratings wise, it certainly didn't deserve three seasons. Two was a stretch, Three was a miracle in and of itself.

And it'll live on gang. As long as Mitch Hurwitz wants to make it, Showtime wants to air it. Mitch just hasn't committed yet, and technically, Fox hasn't even cancelled it yet.

TV Guide is reporting (per the New York Post) that there's brand new buzz that not only has Showtime picked up the show, they've ordered a full 26 episodes.

Take it with a grain of salt, as nothing is official yet.

Not having A.D. on DVD yet, and somehow missing it whenever it's on, I'm completely psyched that a local movie theater (indies, foreign flicks, documentaries) is going to have an "Arrested Development/Banana Split marathon" for two days this March (that's right, A.D. and all you can eat banana splits). I just about wet myself when I read their calendar! :jump2: :jump: :jump2: :jump: :jump2:

Okay...firstly...I'm doing a road trip at the end of this month, so if they haven't had it yet, I may need to head that direction!!

And secondly, the season three DVD's have been announced:

I've got every episode downloaded, but I can promise you now I'll be buying it, especially if there's no word on the Showtime future. The biggest thing we can do to help convince them there's a fan interest would be to buy the season set, IMO.

For Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz, the show mustn't go on.

Hurwitz confirmed Monday that he has decided against continuing on with the series because he feels the show has reached its creative end. Showtime president Robert Greenblatt said previously that the cable channel was interested in picking up the series, but only if Hurwitz was involved as the show runner.

Hurwitz told Variety that he would consider continuing on as a consultant, and that he would be interested in making a feature film of the series.

"I said I'd be happy to do that, but that as show runner, I've gone as far as I can go," he said.

Series star Jason Batemen told the San Francisco Chronicle that he was sad to see the series end, but he is happy that fans can remember it on DVD.

"I'm so proud of it and so like it as a TV fan that I'm happy we're not going to get a chance to screw it up," he said. "It's nice that there's a medium to preserve it."

The announcement by Hurwitz follows months of speculation that the much-loved, low-rated Fox sitcom would move to cable network Showtime. This season, Fox cut the episode order of the series down from 18 to 13 but didn't officially cancel the show. This was partly because they were playing both ends against the middle: when news arose that rival network ABC also wanted the show, Fox decided to hold off on judgment, not wanting to let another network make a hit out of their failure.

Arrested Development told the story of the highly dysfunctional, yet frighteningly familiar, Bluth family. The show won three Emmys, two for writing and one for best comedy series, and Bateman won a Golden Globe for his role as the "sane" member of the family, Michael.

Batemen got a parting shot in at Fox when he mentioned that the network wasn't accustomed to having Emmy-nominated shows.

"At least they had a presence at the Emmys, which was new for them," he said.

SH1T.....:(

I watch the DVD's and all they would talk about was how they wanted a chance to get on a Network that would back them up, Now Showtime was giving them that chance and they past it up? Shame on you AD, shame on you!! How come all the good ,witty, shows don't make it and Larry the Cable guy has a fucking movie!
