I heard about this. It really is a shame since I've always thought he had one of the better voices in rock in any time period. The only voices that strike me as more remarkable are Paul McCartney during The Beatles' days and John Lennon during his solo years, particularly Instant Karma. Maybe Robert Smith of The Cure.
Other than that, I really don't think there is anyone who matches the emotion Delp put into his work. I get really psyched by a good song, and there are a lot of them out there, but none make me want to sing along like Delp on Longtime and More Than A Feeling.

I picked up the first Boston album a few weeks ago when it was on sale at Best Buy. Neg Jr. LOVED it and I've since bought him the second album. He thinks "they rock" and they're "super awesome." He also complains when I turn on American Idol, "How come no one sings anything like Boston?" I have to explain that there are very, very few singers with the range, power, control, and emotion of Brad Delp.
RIP. "It's been such a long time, I think I should be goin'..." :(

Boston Star Committed Suicide
The family of Boston frontman Brad Delp has confirmed the rocker committed suicide. The "More Than A Feeling" singer, 55, was found dead in his New Hampshire home last Friday, and now Delp's family has come forward to announce the depressed star took his own life. In a statement released yesterday, members of Delp's family said, "He was a man who gave all he had to give to everyone around him, whether family, friends, fans or strangers. He gave as long as he could, as best he could, and he was very tired. We take comfort in knowing that he is now, at last, at peace." Delp's body was found by his fiancee Pamela Sullivan. The announcement comes after a state medical examiner declared Delp committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.

It's sad to see him go and to know that he felt this was the only solution.
Well, I'm taking my time,
I'm just moving on.
You'll forget about me after I've been gone...
Never, Brad. Never.

Agreed. Delp's voice had an incredible range. I have to chime in with Ian Gillan in the Deep Purple days. His vocals in Jesus Christ Superstar the Original Cast - are unrivalled to this day. N
