There hasn't been too much talk about this HBO series, but ,it's an amazing show. I'm enjoying the hell out of it. It's such a shame that we're not going to get a third season. I was hoping to see the storylines develop over a few more years since there's a mountain of history that could have been reexamined through the eyes of Vorenus and Pullo. In anycase, HBO did a good job compressing the timeline and presenting a rather acurate look at Roman life near the end of the republic. I'm grateful for the two short years we got to see.

The last epi is a 90 min run, I think. It airs this Sunday.

Looking forward to the Battle of Actium. It does seem like Pullo and Vorenus are destined to end up fighting eachother. And, I have to say I'm lovin' James Purefoy's as Marc Antony. Such a convincing and hateful bastard!

Didn't realize it was 90min. I'm jazzed! This show was excellent, and I'm glad we got S2. I know it's extremely expensive to produce, but man...it's good.

I'm afraid there will be a Vorenus/Pullo showdown, and while it would fit the characters to kill each other because of the sides they've chosen (and know that it's not "personal"), I'd hate to see it.

90 mins was the early buzz. I double checked my satilite listings and it's only listed for the one hour. It seems some people with tivo were seeing a 90 min slot come up..so I dunno?

The Vorenus/Pullo showdown sooo has to happen. It'll be tragic to watch since I expect neither to survive.

** SPOILERS FOR PREVIOUS EPISODES, I GUESS**

It's a real shame that this has been cancelled, not just because I'm a big fan, but because it's meant that they've had to pack so much into this season. Too much really - the time jumps were jarring, frankly. Although there was no way around it, under the circumstances.

If a Pullo/Vorenus clash does happen (and I also hope it doesn't - McKidd and Stevenson are fantastically likeable) - I can't see both of them getting killed, since Pullo's been looking after Lucius's family. I think one would have to live in order to return to them.

Although, given the tone of this show, and the fact that it's the last episode, it's possible that they'll both die, I guess. Also, by the time the battle occurs and a survivor returned to Rome, God knows how much time would have passed (within the show).

One of the things I've loved about this season is the way they've killed characters off - specifically ones who you come to hate. I couldn't stand Cicero, for example, and thought I'd rejoice in his death scene. But it was actually quite disturbing in the matter of fact way it was depicted. Same with the final scene of the last episode, with Pullo killing Gaia. I was looking forward to her getting her 'comeuppance'... but that scene was not what I'd expected.
