yeah although if you check out The Watchtower (http://jl.toonzone.net/), sounds like they might release them in pan and scan instead of widescreen like they are filmed.

According to comiccontinuum.com, the new episodes won't be rolled out until spring or summer. Teen Titans, however, may be cancelled. It's a shame, because I thought both shows went very well together.

DeathScythe

agreed. Teen Titans started off slow, but it definately got better as it went along, once they added alil' more maturity to the show. ie) a more darker Slade and Raven's parentage)

Um, they actually showed that episode back in Oct. or Nov. It had Lex escaping from prison, and then being abducted by a LOD minion. Lex was brought to the LOD headquarters and told about the plan that Gorilla Grod had put together.

And for those that missed it the last time I posted it (on the old board):

Paul Dini Comments on JLU and Teen Titans
Paul Dini recently commented on JLU and Teen Titans on his livejournal (http://kingofbreakfast.livejournal.com/15770.html?thread=196762#t196762): "I did an on camera interview with Bruce, David (Jimmy Olsen) Kaufman, Glen Murakami and Alan Burnett last night for the next (and last) SUPERMAN DVD set. Afterwards we went to dinner where Glen confirmed the end of TITANS, and Bruce said pretty much the same about JLU. There has been some talk about the JLU episodes airing earlier in the states, but that was still being debated at Cartoon Network. I forgot to ask Bruce how my Supergirl episode came out. Maybe I can get a preview if I'm at WB any time soon."
"I had heard people were getting more territorial with certain DC characters (no more Joker in JLU, for instance) but I didn't know the details. I knew two years ago when I left, that as heroes (and their villains) got snapped up in live movie options, it tended limited their appearances elsewhere."

May all WB execs burn in a hell hotter than a billion billion suns.

I think it's cause it falls under the Toonami time slot, not the Adult Swim one. I love how much they're putting into Adult Swim, but I am kinda bummed how they've let Toonami slide. I don't think Adult Swim would've come to be without Toonami. That's where I first saw DBZ and Gundum Wing, and the uncut versions on Midnight Run.

Question: This may be a long shot at finding out what's happening with the series, but here goes: I have read that Justice League Unlimited is the best written and most popular show on the Cartoon Network, so what gives with the impending cancellation of the series? — Marvin

Matt Roush: I consulted one of our senior editors, who's the in-house expert on this show (and on the CN, for that matter), and this was his response: "It's certainly popular and very well written, but the network has bounced the show around the schedule so much that it never really had a chance to break out. Rumor has it that production has stopped, but new episodes should be airing through the spring. And they did end up making 92 episodes, which is a considerable amount for any series these days." Makes sense to me.

I missed out on the entire second season because they re-ran every episode in the first season one billion times that I finally stopped checking to see which episode they were airing. It was complete luck that I happened upon the first episode of the 3rd season right when they aired it.

I've also heard a problem is that many of the characters are being licensed for their own series and movies, therefore they are unavailable. That's why Aquaman is no longer on the show.

This week's episode was pretty good. I liked the scenes of the switched minds. Seeing Lex's intelligence with Flash's powers was interesting. Also it was funny hearing Flash get it on with Lex's girlfriend. "Hey that's not relaxing." :)

Unfortunately, the 30m episode was too short. It seemed like it was just too easy to reverse the process. Also, I wonder if Grod didn't somehow work his way into Luther's body instead. The last scene really made me wonder.

I agree that The Great Brain Robbery was a little short. It would've been nice to see Lex living as Flash for a bit and interacted with more characters, but that would've probably had to be drawn out to a 2-part ep, and with the end of the series drawing near, we want as much of the JLU universe as we can get! Besides, isn't next week the girlfight episode where all the women get down and dirty?

I just go to watch the new JLU this morning (TIVO) and I thought it was a whole lot better then the one that aired last week. But why did they keep Flash/Lex cooped up, it would have been great Flash out and about with Lex's mind. To me it seems that the ideas in JLU are great but never really seen though to the fullest .

another decent episode. But I still feel like it's rushed. The whole deus ex machine of the brainwashing earpieces felt just arbitrary. There was no explanation why it worked, how they implemented it, and why no one noticed all the female JL'ers were missing and bruised every morning. Still the fighting was cool. And did the end of the episode remind anyone else of the end of Rocky 3? :D

It's part of the DC lore.

Well, in one universe anyway.

In another universe, she stays and dies.

In another universe, she stays and grows into Super Woman...

In another universe......well, you get the picture...and hence why they had the mess that was Crisis of Infinite Earths, and (more recently) Infinity Crisis.

If anyone is confused about the episodes Alive and Destroyer, to understand what happened in these episodes I recommend reading the Superman graphic novel: Our Worlds At War book 1 and 2.

I love the Justice League, really do but I must confess, I am getting tired of how the portrayal of the league is being handled by Bruce Timm, or should I say being mishandled. Sure he has a group of talented “Yes” men that work with him but he has taken an excellent franchise and has brought it to its knees. Alive and Destroyer are proof of it. It would be nice if Bruce Timm would start to listen to the fans again, instead of his nightmares. Alive and Destroyer were excellent, don’t get me wrong but it was no Starcrossed.

I can only hope Legion of Superheroes makes up for the sub par stuff of late.

I have to say I only seen a couple Eps of this show. It comes on at a bad time. But what I have seen great. "The Great brain robbery" cleared up one of the longest standing arguments between me and one of my friends that refused to believe that the Flash is a very powerful hero in the DC universe. Also I always thought next to Black Adam, The Emerald Empress was the coolest villain in DC I want an Emerald Eye of Ekron. :)

I liked the fact that the story was concentrated on the Legion of Doom. Really got to see the relationships between the characters. I was also wondering how and when Superman "killed" Darkseid. Was it in an earlier Justice League/JLU ep or was it in the Superman series?

Can't wait for the big finale, I love all-out war stories!

It was in a JL(one of the last episodes) episode.

Episode #27 & 28 - Twilight Part 1 & 2
Original Airdate - July 5th 2003 -Second Season Premiere

When Brainiac threatens to destroy Apokolips, Darkseid turns to the Justice League for help. Superman does not trust his old foe, but his fellow superheroes convince the Man of Steel to come to Darkseid's defense. Meanwhile, Darkseid's longtime enemies on neighboring planet New Genesis, High Father and Orion, believe Darkseid may be fooling the Justice League.

It was a really good bookend of episodes since you get to see how far Superman was willing to go to get rid of Darkseid, and you get to see a side of Bats that one rarely gets to see.

It'll be out on DVD next month when season 2 hits the shelves.

JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED FINALE

http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0605/11/jlu1th.jpg (http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0605/11/jlu1.htm)
Producer Dwayne McDuffie told The Continuum that the series finale of Justice League Unlimited -- "Destroyer," which premieres on Saturday on Cartoon Network -- sends the show off with a bang.
"It was a pleasure to be a part of the team on the series finale of JLU, in many ways the conclusion to a single grand continuity spanning Batman TAS, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond and depending on who you're arguing with, several other fine shows," McDuffie said.
"As always, director Jaoquim Dos Santos brought the funk, delivering several classic action sequences -- wait for 'the punch,' after you've seen it, you'll know what I'm talking about. All of our major characters take a final bow and even Luthor still has a trick up his sleeve.
"Bruce Timm and James Tucker have produced yet another classic animated series and this is a finale worthy of their legacy. Come join us for one last adventure."
Fellow producer Matt Wayne echoed McDuffie's sentiments.
"It was a big thrill being part of what I think is the best animated action show ever," he told The Continuum. "Every day there'd be something, a plot twist or storyboard or some new footage, that would make me say 'Oh, my God.' Most jobs you don't get that.
Bruce, James and Dwayne always push themselves to do it bigger and better than last time. I'm proud to have jumped into that mix and held my own.
"'Destroyer' is a great episode to go out on, one big climax after another." http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0605/11/jlu2th.jpg (http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0605/11/jlu2.htm) http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0605/11/jlu3th.jpg (http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0605/11/jlu3.htm)

Here's to hoping that Bruce Timm, et. al. return to either the big or small screen with something as equally fantastic as everything they've created up to this point in their careers.

Easily some of the best written and animated stories and series ever produced for (and from) the U.S.

Darkseid's life quest was to find the Anti-Life Equation. This is the opposite of what created the Big Bang. He wanted it to destroy the universe and then remake the universe in his own image. Luthor had the Anti-Life Equation (something Darkseid was never able to accomplish due to the barrier of The Source Wall), and that's what he was showing Darkseid.

As for Metron, he is one of the New Gods (remember that planet that Darkseod said he was going to take out after Earth?) and is a time traveler. Think of Metron kind of like a lame version of Marvel's Watcher.

Nope, it was more of a role call. They showed all the heroes that were in the show in reverse order of their appearance on JLU and JL. The only one missing was Aquaman due to the licensing issues with the new live-action series that may or may not appear on the CW.
