okay.

Hello?

This is a Saturday night, I'm wondering why the hell am I'm not out having fun. Was just listening to "Aeon Flux", starting to think it sounded okay. I think you guys just drool over Charlize Theron. ;)

That Vodka better be a Martini, shaken not stirred. :p

I was thinking the same thing. At around 10:50 my time, everyone disappeared from the forums.

Checked in again at 11:49, still no one.

Checked in again at 12:53, nada again.

Bah, I gave up and watched satelite.

When you say your first big screen, you mean HD or Plasma? Or big screen SD?

Which Adam Sandler flick? The younger crazy Sandler or the recent serious Sandler?

Hey, I'm rambling now. Woot?

What the hell is woot anyway?

Woot!

I started playing City of Heroes at 9pm. Julia was helping for a bout an hour before I sent her to bed. We were running the latest uber set of missions, "Statesman's Task Force" (we being me, a dud from work, his wife, and 5 other people we know). One of the things we had to do was kill a tree. Yes. A fucking tree. We had to try twice becaus that damned thing pwn3d our asses the first time. Four hours and 41 minutes later (damn, it took a long time), we made Lord Recluse our bitch. And Julia didn't go to sleep until sometime around midnight.

Dude, pull something out of the DVD library. Not mine, though. Adam Sandler, not present in mine. Except for Punch Drunk Love. And that's not an "Adam Sandler" film as such...

I watched a UFO documentary on the History Channel, then I watched Ocean's Eleven.

No dates, no parties, no social life. Just isolation as usual. Much better that way.

I coukln't find much in the library to perk my interest. I never cared much for early Sandler, but found myself liking50 First Dates and Spanglis. Click? Well, that movie kinda wound up all over the map, trying to be silly, serious, profound, irrelevant, comedy, deep... but Sandler managed to carry it okay.

My new set is HD and I'm loving it. I am now looking at maybe getting a cable package or more likely, dish. But then, I see here that BSG will be ending (which would have accounted 60% of my reason for getting cable!)

Looks like I missed all the fun here by a half hour or so - I wound up just crashing.

Raps was getting some??!! (does Outy know?) *Ba-da - BOOM!!! (thank you Ladies and Germs....) *waiting for asprin and caffine to kick in

So Tstone - are you back in Deutschland now? And do they still hate us or is it okay to visist?

Hello?

This is a Saturday night, I'm wondering why the hell am I'm not out having fun.

That Vodka better be a Martini, shaken not stirred. :p

This IS fun!!!!!!

And the vodka I'm having is called Yazi - it's a ginger flavored vodka: soooo damn good, that I drink it mixed only with club soda.

I did checkout a neighborhood pub last night, looking to meet people. They close at 11pm and it was pretty much a date-place. All couples and all half my age. Still, a really awesome place ( a restored turn of the century pharmacy). There is the Horse Brass a few blocks down the other direction. A real hopping authentic English pub - but entering the place is the equivalent of smoking two packs of cigs every fifteen minutes. And again - the demo is 25-30. except for the one old guy (no - not me, the OTHER one) at the bar who kept "ARRRRRGGGHHH - in" at me. Nice guy - I think he was a pirate. It would take a pirate's booty to pay for the shots he was slamming down.

I watched Oceans 11 on television (which I hadn’t seen since it came out), then The Kings of Comedy came on right after (first time seeing). Got up early this morning and watched Harsh Times.

I’m “couch potatoed” out.

O11 the original? With Sinatra? or the remake? Both are great.

But Ocean's 12??? Ummmm.... picking up dog shit in the back yard is a better use of one's time.

Germans never hated us (Americans). They just had, and have, a problem with Bush and his policies. And they have no problem saying so.

But they are a smart, wise bunch and don't blame Americans for the policis of the Admin.

I feel, and have always felt since being here, safe in German streets, even in the presence of a protest (which we are encouraged to avoid).

LOL is that the one with the girls in the purple wigs and mini skirts?

Actually it was a doc about UFO hunters, people like MUFON who go around studying UFO reports. It was pretty interesting if you like that stuff...

Oh and in the interest of full disclosure I was up till 4 am watching a Playboy movie on the Latino station. I might as well get that out of the way.

It probably won’t affect the continuity skipping 12.

And yes - the purple wigs and reynolds wrap foil sace dresses. I love that show!

The show's always been noted for the moonbase crew,

I see the nipple makes it's appearance in this production too...

Wasn't there a scene in the original episode where the guy was doing coke on his desk, then when someone came into his office he quickly stashed it away? Or am I thinking of something completely different...

I don't recall the coke scene, but it could be very likely. This was the frollicking 70's we're talking about (okay.... 1969 - sue me)

As to my preferences for porn - I prefer a well written script, a well crafted plotline and dialog that it beleivable, thank you.

I have to go now and mow my fucking lawn. And dust the furniture at a house I'm not even living in. It sucks. My othre house is on the market and most everybody has advised to leave the furniture in it for 'staging'. I'm okay with it (for now) but posting on the floor is getting very, VERY old.

Not to mention, I am spending all my free time here fixining up and restoring my new home - only to have to go and do the same for the other home. Last week, a realtor was showing it (it's unoccupied) and somehwo, somebody broke an interior french door window and never left a note or offer to repair it. I am PISSED! I want the damn thing sold!

Not to mebntion, somebdoy has left the door unlocked TWICE now in the weeks past - and one time, all of my dresser drawers were left open (they are empty anyway...) WTF does anybody have to check out furniture drawers when showing a fucking home???!!!!

On my way there now.

I've caught that one on History last week, Space. Very cool.

Which goes into why you must get a dish, Uncle. Must....get....a ...dish!

Even if BSG is ending, the channels Discovery/Science, Discovery Times, History, History International....They're addictive for me as chocolate and Vodka...You put it on one of those channels and you can vegitate for hours without even realizing it. I love those channels so much, I thought about putting up a forum dedicated to them last year but I know it would only be a few people talking to each other.

Sure, a lot of it's reruns but all that means is you can catch up on everything rather quickly..

And the recent Planet Earth series was absolutely awe inspiring. I loved every second of it.

I haven't had a chance to watch the debut of "Universe" which started last week but it was about the Sun and I've seen tons of docus on the sun already. Still, I'll try to catch the rerun of it tonight.

Sure, Dish has tons of channels you'll never use but getting 5-8 different channels owned by Discovery Media and of course the 5-9 HBOs, 3 SkineMax (which is now owned by HBO), 5 Encores and 5 Showtimes is well worth the price of the dish.

Not to mention the football ticket for fans of the game.

Heh. I remember switching over to Dish and having a Time Warner Cable knock on the door..I let him go through his speech on switching back to Time Warner from the Direct Tv...must have went on for a good 5 minutes. It was already 98 degrees outside and he was sweating profusely.

Towards the end..

Jarrod : "You have the NFL ticket, yet?"

Time Warner Sweaty Guy: *sigh*

Jarrod: "I didn't think so. "

Door closes. Ah, I know...that was cruel letting him go through all that but hey, it comes with the job.

Something similiar occurred when I was 21 and living in an apartment at the time. Some guy called up launching into a speech about how I won a free roofing special deal..I let him talk for a good 15 minutes. He ends it and asks for any questions on my "free roof".

Jarrod : "I live in an apartment"

ROTFLMAO!!!

Good one.

Yeah - there is a part of me that wants the Dish. But when I had cable - years ago - you'd find an excuse - ANY excuse - to recline on the couch and watch something - ANYTHING (*"Look!! It's Aliice!!! OMG - That Mel just cracks me up!!!") *shudders.

I like the freedom I have now of knowing that I do not even bother to save the weekly TV guide that comes with my Sunday paper - there is NOTHING on TV that I am missing. 24 is over and I am done. My only use for TV these days is for the DVD's I rent.

Although I tuned in to a special on the life of Winston Churchill yesterday and it depressed me all the more The guy didn't just live history - he made it. And in the end, he wound up majorly depressed at having seen the futility of it all. A victim of several strokes, his reported last words upon his final one was something like "Enough." or "No more."

Seeing the fight yanked out from such a powerful personality just left me in all the more of a funk.

Maybe i should lay off of the lessons of history and lose myself more in TV Land's I Dream of Jeannie.

I think you would have more people than you'd expect...Man vs. Wild is my new favorite show! It's like Survivor Man, but way cooler. There is an episode where he eats a zebra in the same manner a lion would...on all fours and without using his hands. The guy is awesome!

As for me, I spent Saturday night by myself watching the Cavs advance to their first NBA finals. Sheesh. Where are the single ladies at? Why can't I find one? Ahhh!

DarkJedi

LMAO I can be the same way, Unc. Sometimes, watching a bunch of it can affect the mindset.

A few weeks ago, I watched "When Yellowstone Erupts" which talked about how the Super Volcano there is way overdue.

Next show on the channel was about "Asteroids" being global killers. I kept sitting there staring at this baby..Got up for a drink maybe but kept watching it.

Then, the next show was about Massive Black Holes (the Carl Sagan Cosmos one). Still kept watching...

After four hours of straight disaster programming viewing, I was as good as freaked out the rest of the night how humanity can go at any second. lol

Wow, I didn't know the Cavs made it to the Finals, Col....Shows how much I've been keeping up with it after the Rockets got knocked out. Suns, Rockets and Spurs all got knocked so I haven't even thought about it.

Seriously, it's kinda fun - if not a bit surreal - that my ex will ask me to work her pics in Photoshop before posting them, or she will ask me to proof and beta her profile. We've been working very close together as partners in fixing up our homes and getting the one market ready, that I am very happy to help her with her online dating.
