As a Pierce Brosnan fan, I'm still following his movies. I picked up Seraphim Falls first day it was released. (Stupid Sony for not releasing it in the theatres here in Canada, was waiting and waiting and waiting to see it on the big screen.) And I can't wait till October when Married Life will be out. :)

But the one movie I've been anticipating to see, the one right after my fav for 2007 list (300!!) is 'Butterfly on a Wheel'. Ever since I read last fall that Brosnan was gonna be a bad guy, I just knew I had to watch this movie. It's suppose to be released this year, still no set date. (I keep wondering if it's gonna do the film festival circuit like how Seraphim Falls did until it's January release in the US) I have read in a couple of places that it's suppose to be released in mid-august. (Checked the movies for Aug 17, seems like nothing too excitiing is coming out) Though Lionsgate and Maple Pictures still haven't added it to their upcoming releases.... But anyway, I think this one will be a great movie to watch, I like thrillers (like Bond movies eh?)

I did write a bit of a synopsis, since it's late, not sure if it'll make sense:

A ruthless kidnapper Ryan (Brosnan) is out to destroy Neil (Butler) and Abby (Bello) Warner's lives, so over a course of one day with their five year old daughter Sophie gone, the kidnapper continually makes demands and each are more terrifying than the last. It becomes clear to the Warner's that it isn't money that he's after but the destruction of their lives. So during the next 24 hours, they are at the mercy of this man who only wants one thing, that they do his bidding. Piece by piece, the lives that Neil and Abby created is being systematically dismantled and destroyed. When they realize their nightmare takes an even more deadlier turn, the life of their daughter is placed in Ryan's final, most horrifying challenge. Would they kill an innocent man to save their child? Only Neil knows the answer, as Ryan hands him a gun.

I seriously hope it gets released this year. Been watching the schedules for the main characters. Pierce is currently in London doing rehearsals for "Mamma Mia", principal photography will start at the end of June for 10 weeks in London and there's 5 weeks in Greece, that'll keep him busy into October. For Maria Bello, she'll be starting her work on 'Mummy 3' in Montreal, not sure how long that run will be for. And Gerard Butler will be in North Queenland at the end of Jully to start filming "Nim's Island'. I seriously hope that mid-august everyone will have time to do a Premiere. *keeping my fingers crossed*

BTW, no official website yet either, nor an official poster or trailer. I keep wondering if that's normal for a small indie film.

Hmmmm, I guess no one is a PB fan anymore. ;) :)

In the last day, some updates for Butterfly have been happening, there's even movement at IMDb BOAW page, though no US/Canada release date yet. Lionsgate and Maple, get moving! Heh.

Anyways, here are the articles.

Well, since the festival only runs from October 4 to the 14th, does that mean the World Premiere will be somewhere else or perhaps it will be at this festival? Maybe this showing is just a special event... Hopefully there will be more info soon. (btw, aren't ya thrilled that there's a date? I sure am! :D )

Not that I'm not interested, just didn't think of anything clever to say.

Brosnan has real range. Did you see Matador? I loved it.

Yeah, the Matador was awesome. Haven't bought the DVD yet, though I've rented it, it's one of those films that does stand out because of how well Pierce is. Like you said, real versatile. After Butterfly, next movie I can't wait to see is "The Topkapi Affair", I think he said that he'll be doing this movie after he's done with Mamma Mia. :D

And on a personal note, I know a guy who was just like Julian Noble, when I was watching Julian it was like whoa. Heh

Okay, it's 5 am and I'm starting to get a bit sleepy. So, I'll just spam these updates. There's a name change and a US release date, check it out and let me know what you think of both. :) Nighty night.

Okay, been over 24 hours later, been out of town, cooked, actually slept and my house looks liveable again. Nice right?

Anywho, back to what I tried to say yesterdayish.

According to GB.net, they've spoken with Director Mike Barker and he said there'll be a viewing of 'Shattered' in Miami on July 27, 2007 but no red carpet or stars will be there. Not sure if this is just a special showing as it's probably not considered a Premiere. Shattered is now the US titled for Butterfly on a Wheel, not sure if it's going to change for other countries or not, but at the Stiges site it's still says 'Butterfly', not sure if this will be the International title. Not unheard of, sometimes US change the titles of movies like HP: Philosopher's Stone to Sorcerer's Stone. Or the DVD release of 'The Game of their Lives' to 'Miracle Match'. But it could be changed worldwide to 'shattered', at Pierce Brosnan's Official website, in his bio timeline and Irish Dreamtime Company profile pages, the title 'Butterfly on a Wheel' was changed to 'Shattered'... Now things are getting interesting. But no trailer yet, official poster or Premiere date.

Yeesh, I must have been in a rush to write that summarized summary of the previous post. :D :D

Good God, if I write bad, tell me so I can at least make my sentences a bit more comprehensible. Heh

Anyways, only have one more thing to add, earlier today this is what I heard. "As is stands, there has been no release date set for Butterfly On A Wheel."

After 300, BOAW was the next movie I so wanted to see. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Brosnan play a bad guy?

So, I guess that special viewing in Miami is a one shot deal, if no one watches it there, it may not get a release in the US... Though still uncertain about UK/Canada, after all this is a production from both countries. So, I guess it's back to waiting to hear "official news" from Lionsgate, or Maples Pictures and even Icon. I just wish they'd at least show it up here in Canada, Vancouver would be nice. :)

Well, I generally don't do this sort of thing, but been asked to spread the word on this movie's lack of distribution. Please read and don't forget to check out the trailer, it's fairly good. :)

Grass Root Movement Support for Butterfly on a Wheel aka Shattered

GB.Net, Pierce Brosnan Files and many more sites are asking for help to bring Butterfly aka Shattered to more screens in the US. Currently, this film is only being viewed in Miami in 5 different theatres. Many fans are asking Lionsgate to release this film to more theatres and are also asking their local cinemas/multiplex's to pick up this movie. There is also a thread started at Lionsgate Forums (http://forums.lionsgate.com/showthread.php?t=11680), please add support and request politely for it's release and why.

To help with this grass roots movement, (and it has worked successfully on other films) please contact Lionsgate at:

Lionsgate
2700 Colorado Ave.
Santa Monica, CA 90404
Phn: 310-449-9200
Fax: 310-255-3870

For Canada, please contact Maple Pictures at:

Maple Pictures
416-944-0104
info@maplepictures.com

When contacting distributors please ask them politely for a wide release of film and why you would like to see it. Also for both countries, contact your local independent theaters and maybe a few multiplexes. The multiplexes are not always as willing to go out and solicit distributors, but it's worth a shot. Request, politely, and with facts that you would like to see 'Butterfly on a Wheel' aka 'Shattered'. (please use both titles for Canada as it's still listed at Infinity Features as such). For example, list the stars, the rating (the MPAA has given it an R rating, not sure what the Canadian rating is yet) and that Maple Pictures is the distributor. Also add the link to Lionsgate Site that has the 'Shattered' Trailer (http://lionsgate.com/shattered) and poster links from sites like GB.net 'Shattered' Poster (http://www.gerard-butler.net/gallery/gallery.php?g2_itemId=43390), Gerard Butler GALS (http://www.gerardbutlergals.com/gallery/albums/boaw/misc/shattered.JPG), Pierce Brosnan Files 'Shattered' Poster (http://pbfiles.t35.com/butterfly/shattered-poster-large.jpg) and there are more sites hosting this poster. If you like, add the forum link to Lionsgate (http://forums.lionsgate.com/showthread.php?t=11680) to show that there are a few who ask and they represent the many more who want to see this film. PLEASE, participate in this endeavor, much work has gone into making this film for the big screen and many want to see it first there. Thanks for helping and reading this.
