For all you Dads out there that post, you know who you are,
and maybe a few who don't yet but their girlfriends know it and just
haven't taken the time to call you yet with the news... anyway-

Have a HAPPY Father's Day. :)

And be a MAN. Be good to your kids and take care of them.
5 bucks in a birthday card once a year doesn't cut it.

A friend at work told me to be sure I do NOTHING this Sunday. Right.
I have 4 kids. Like that's gonna happen.

What my kids will do for me this year, I have no idea.
Since their ages are currently at 6, 4, 2, & 1, I don't expect it to be
anything beyond a home crafted, construction paper folded,
crayola traced thingy that will find itself on the fridge door for the next
4 to 5 months till Thanksgiving gives us new ones to put up.
Should be interesting. My kids seem to have interesting artistic bents.

Have a great weekend all! :)

I think I've mentioned it before, but on Mother's Day, the Dad's take the kids to give Mom a break, and on Father's Day, the Dad's take the kids to spend quality time with them. I'm missing something here.

Now, to be fair, a lot of this is a direct result of the spousal unit's bad back and recent surgery, but it's not, strictly speaking, "new."

When I get home from work (I usually leave around 5:30am to go to work) around 6-7pm, I take over kid responsibility. I make dinner, take the kids out to play, give them baths, clean up from dinner, and get the kids to bed. On the weekends, unless I've got work to do, I've got the kids to watch, feed, and do the chores I don't get to do while I'm at work during the week, you know, like laundry, vacuuming, mopping, etc. All the stuff I'm told I never get done...

This weekend is double XP weekend on City of Heroes. Guess what I want to do on Father's Day?

Happy Fathers' Day, guys.

Every day I am grateful for my bf and relieved that I am not a single mom. He's a great dad, just like I know you guys are. Give your kids big hugs and kisses and be sure to grill some animal carcasses tomorrow.

:) Happy Fathers' Day to all. My son is taking me for prime rib after I'm done with the laundry and yardwork today. I'm looking forward to this place - been there for decades;dark dingy booths and Corinthian leather seating - a REAL steak house. :)

Happy Father's day!!!

I'm not actually seeing my dad today, but I have spoken to him on the phone and I sent him a card.

Hope you all have a great one!

I did the call Dad thing already. Kids got me some new hardware for my PC, so I installed that while the boy takes his nap.

Steak for dinner. I'd like a nap, too. And...well, what I always want.

And...well, what I always want.

You mean cuddling while tearfully talking about your feelings for a couple of hours?

I let the man ride around on his motorcycle with his dad and brother-in-law most of the day. I also got up at 7am this morning after getting home from work at 3am, got the boy ready, and drove us 40 minutes to the bf's sister's house so we could have breakfast with his dad. Then I drove the boy and myself to my parents house so I could give my dad a card and a hug. We even exchanged the "L" word, which isn't a common occurrence in my family. Not that we don't love each other, we just don't say it. :Dunno: The bf and I finished the evening with 2 episodes of the X-Files. Good day, but I'm about half dead right now.

I spent the morning with the two youngest (having spent yesterday with the two oldest). Then the GF came home, gave me a card and the news that she had pre-paid for Blue Dragon for the X-Box 360. The I went to work for eight hellish hours! All in all, it was a good day. :D

Hey Kah....My family is the same way with the "L" word. We just do not say it. We know that we do and we would do just about anything for each other. Outy calls it a "white" thing. That mid-western white people do not express feelings at all.

Anyway, happy belated fathers day to all of you fathers here.

I think my dad got a little choked up when I said it. I just find it a little funny that we can say it to our friends and sig. others, but not to our family.

I used to be quiet about the L word too for a very long time, except on
birthdays and special occasions. Then I got married, and I learned early on
the value of saying it because it's part of making the most of those we
hold dear in our hearts, or, dare I say it, (gulp!) LOVE. :D
Life is short. Let them know.

My family is actually pretty good at saying it. My dad just says it randomly whenever he sees me and always says it on email. I have no trouble saying it to my parents and even my sisters and I exchage I Love Yous now and again without feeling weird about it. Granted, my sisters and I get along supernaturally well that some people find disturbing.

Let's hear it for March 14th!

As we were shopping for more supplies to finish up the nursery, my wife bought me a stud finder for sunday.

I told her, "Well, that's going to be useless. You already found me."

 was her response

Me too. Plus, you said it right before she is to pop out your spawn. I never thought of my husband as a stud when I was nine months pregnant.
