View Full Version : What is wrong with Danial Way?

Okay, so there are probably a total of two people on this site besides me who even read Wolverine: Origins or Ghost Rider, but I have to ask: Why all the hate? I don't get it.
Ghost Rider has a cool horror bent with some decent action and Wolverine feels like he finally has some direction. Granted, his storyline is long, but I think it admirable that he is building something big instead of a quick adventure that you forget about three months after its over.
Sometimes, I swear I don't get it. :(

I read both Ghost Rider and Wolverine: Origins. I can understand why some people don't like his writing. On both Ghost Rider and Origins, the stories are greatly drawn out, to the point where it seems they're going nowhere. A lot of people feel that the things he has done in Origins have totally corrupted Wolverine and his mythos. I don't feel that way, but I agree to an extent that it would be nice to see where he's going with it. On a side note of Origins, if I wasn't intrigued to know how everything plays out, I would drop it from my list. Dillon's art does NOT suit Wolverine at ALL and the writing itself can be muddled and confusing at times. I really despise the way Dillon draws Wolvie. The only reason I'm not dropping it is because I'm waiting to see where it goes.
Ghost Rider, on the other hand, has been pretty cool. I didn't like- scratch that HATED - the fill-in artist that did the last arc. His art was HORRIBLE, just god-awful.
All in all, I'm not a fan of Way's (I think he did a particularly horrible Agent X issue/arc a few years ago that made me initially hate him) but I think he's a bit better than a lot of people give him credit for. He has yet to produce anything that really makes me say "wow."
