Pixar's already got a trailer for next year's film about a robot who wants to go into space. It's Pixar, I'm sure it'll be good.

Just about all you can tell from this teaser is that the character design and animation are once again very good. I was disappointed that there is only about 10 seconds of actual footage in the whole thing.
If you want to see it in various QT sizes including hi-def, go here (http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/walle/)

Me too, but something internal cries out against the adorable robot. We don't have enough killer robot movies. Technology is not cute! It should have flame-throwers!

SS's complaints aside, it does look pretty good, sort of a ripoff of Short Circuit though.

I saw the trailer when it made its online debut last weekend, and then saw it again when I took my daughter to a sneak of Ratatouille. My daughter does not like Wall*e's voice. Lots of things disturb her now. She liked Ratatouille except for the part with all of the shooting at the beginning. That really bothered her.
Anyway, I'm keen to see more, but I like the character design and the animation is amazing. Pixar constantly improves. It's wild.

They're just tryin to fill space until 2010, when they're releasing Toy Story 3. I know I heard what they had planned for 2009, but I can't remember what it was called.

Yeah, the voice is kinda creepy...but the rest is cool.

new trailer out, gives a little more of the story. Looks sort of interesting. I am curious if the robots will actually speak, or just have the noise/language that they show in the trailers.

You're likely thinking about John Carter of Mars. Pixar is circling whether to make a trilogy of movies for the series and whether it will be straight animation or live action. I'm curious if it will be their first R-rated series as well considering the material. Pixar is also co-producing a new live action Brad Bird film on the 1906 Earthquake which was announced yesterday.

I've seen longer trailers both in theaters and on TV lately. Each time they make me giggle. Even Jr., who is too cool for kids' films, professes himself intrigued.
I'm going to go out on a limb now and predict this will be the highest-grossing film of 2008. It looks awesome.

I have to agree we're looking forward to this one, the animation looks phenomenal. I see a potential problem with these longer trailers - and by default I guess I have a problem with the marketing strategy here. In this case, I think too much of the story has been laid out in the trailers and spots. I suppose I am growing tired of this popular new trend in letting the ENTIRE plot out in the trailers.

i was complaining about that very same thing before Castaway came out.

In some cases, I think it's a problem. In others, I don't think it matters much.
I really enjoyed the first three minutes or so of Speed Racer that they put online, and I also liked all of the trailers a lot. With Wall*E, I think that they know that there is a segment of the audience who will put their butts in the theaters, no matter what. Then there's people who were on the fence with Ratatouille, or may have heard something about there not being a lot of dialogue in Wall*E -- maybe Pixar is out to convince those people to check it out.
i'm looking forward to it in a huge way. Unfortunately, Wall*E's voice bothers my daughter, so she doesn't really want to see it, and I think it'll not be hyper enough for my son yet. Kung Fu Panda looks ot be about his speed, though.
