Well, lets see here, the Silver Surfer has the power cosmic.

Superman is, well, invulnerable, and has all those other super powers.

The winner would have to be.....

If it is, then Superman doesn't have much of a chance.

Some reason why will Surfer win:

1) The Silver Surfer wields the "Power Cosmic," absorbing and manipulating the universe's cosmic energy, and is almost totally indestructible...The Silver Surfer can also manipulate matter on a molecular level, allowing him to change the elemental make-up of an item into another element, alter the shape of an object, disintegrate targeted items and so forth...

2) The Surfer, who sustains himself by converting matter into energy, does not require food, drink, air....

3)He is immune to extreme temperatures and most radiation, and he can survive in vacuum environments such as outer space and hyperspace. He can analyze and manipulate matter and energy, and restructure or animate matter at will, even transmuting elements. He can utilize the Power Cosmic to augment his strength to incalculable levels that rivals ""The Hulk's"" rage-enhanced strength allowing to lift well beyond 100 tons, with no known upper limit

4)...his entire body was made highly resistant to injury and he is thus almost invulnerable to most types of physical harm

5)Essentially, the Power Cosmic gives the Surfer mastery over the four fundamental forces of the universe:
Electro-magnetism, Gravitikinesis: Manipulation of Gravity, Ability to store and discharge nuclear force (Strong/Weak Force).

6)Weaknesses - None known

7) Superman was killed by Doomsday...not that strong enemy...

Conclusion: "- Superman is strong but SS will kick ass of Man of Steel beacuse wields the "Power Cosmic" and with this chice he manipulate matter and energy...(if he have rage of Hulk he will kill Superman). Easly he can to be able to create some kryptonite to Superman any time (could synthsize cryptonite gloves and beat supes down.... and don't forget his ability to draw the battle far, far away from Earth's yellow sun...only problem is Galaktus barier)...and only weak point of SS maybe is that - Surfer is a pascifist..."

p.s. - My opinion is that strongest comics character is :

1) Thor
- The Surfer has fought Thor on at least three occasions, and the Thunder god has always defeated him (I mean Silver Surfer)...
2) Silver Surfer - The one thing you don't want to do though is piss off the Silver Surfer....
3) Superman - Surfer's far more powerful, Supes is a better fighter;
4) Hulk - defeted by Superman, Silver Surfer...
