View Full Version : Okay....Who's going to Comic Con this year?
DaForce

I'll be there. I'm getting there Thurs. morning.
Comic Con runs from July 26th through July 29th. Looks like there's going to be lots of stuff on Iron Man, The Dark Knight, The Hulk, etc.
Word of advice if you're going to go, buy the four day pass. They are not selling single day passes for Sat. this year.
The reason is due to the overcrowded capacity of last year's Sat. at the Con. So you can either buy the 4 day pass (currently at $65), or you can buy the three day pass (Thurs, Fri., and Sun.) for a lesser price.
Individual day passes are available for Thurs. or Fri. or Sun.
Maybe I'll see some of you there.

I've been wanting to go to San Diego for years now! I had even saved up and was going to make the trip last year! But then my inconsiderate girlfriend just had to go and get herself pregnant... Of the selfish, self-centered things to do...
Oh, uh, I mean, I won't be able to go this year, sadly. I have my fingers crossed for next year!

San Diego, CA.
It's the biggest Convention of them all, and Hollywood usually comes out in full force to promote their movies and tv shows.

Didn't Fangoria used to host one of those in like New York or Philidelphia?
I think there are a couple around the country each year, just gotta look for them.
Hell, I mean if Highlander gets conventions, I don't see why horror wouldn't.

Highlander actually has its own conventions???
I do not know weather to fart or laugh....maybe both....

I've been wanting to go to San Diego for years now! !
Me too. It's like my dream. Every year I want to go but then every year it comes down too quickly and I realize I don't have my finances in order to go. Like I really want to go the the SD Comicon and SXSW. Those are the two places that I would fucking love to end up with.
Anyway, yeah, I don't think I'll be able to make it this year. Blech.

No! I always lived too far north before -- but I'm DEFINITELY going this year. I mean, I can hardly avoid it, I actually live in Austin now. Even if the ticket prices are completely, manically, criminally insane, and getting worse all the time.

Exactly. Which is why I need to go soon before they bump up the price to a kidney or my first born female child.

As for comiccon. I so wish I could go, especially to the 'Watchmen' Panel. Saw this at a GB site, thought you guys might be interested. :)
Good grief, I am spamming again. :) But then again, who wouldn't try and get a DVD?

You know, I used to come here because of the adult, intelligent discussions on movies and comic books. Now this place seems to be full of shit! :D
Ah well, I am definitely going to start saving again for next year. I went to a small convention here a couple of weeks ago (the first in Spokane since 1993) and now I want bigger. If nothing else, I can go to the Emerald City Con in Seattle next April, I guess.
I wonder how much it costs for a table... :headscratch:

If any of you hosers go to Comic Con, bring notepads, cameras and sneaky spy clothes...I want information, pictures, interview reports...

Lesee...I've seen the original pilot episode of "Heroes" (yes, it is different from what was broadcast), almost knocked over Ron Perlman, had Seth Green bum a light off a friend of a friend while we were standing outside, got more free swag than I knew what to do with, have seen just about every major star up close and personal, chatted with quite a few comic book writers and artists and actors, not to mention that Iget to stay in San Diego for a few days to boot.
So yeah, you're missing things. :D
DJ, I'm bringing a mini-DV camera, and a regular digital camera, but I probably won't have any way to send stuff out to you til after the con since I don't own a laptop.

I don't want Ice-cream. I want $10,000 in a small lot of unmarked X-Men back-issues. First printings only. If you want footage of my night spent alone with Rachel McAdams it'll cost you an Incredible Hulk #181 and Avengers (Vol. 1) #4. :D
Oh, that's right, I'm not going, dammit!

Anyone else think they can make it?

Come on Traz, it’s still early enough to start making plans for Dragon Con.
You don't understand. If I go, my wife would want to come with me, as she has
in the past. Plus, if she does, who will watch my four-headed monster, 6-4-2-1?
The money isn't there. I'm working hard now to get rid of debt so that maybe
in a few years, I can finally go to any 'Con, and I do hope that when the kids are
old enough, I can take them along. So for now, all I can do is just sit back and
watch the black parade from afar. :Goodbye:

I been to shrine comic book show,
what piece of crap that was.
as far as the san diego comic con.
I think only scifi , horror and adventure movies should
be the only ones allowed , not frigging tv shows.
or video game companies. don't have there own shows?
whats next selling cooking wear?
as my friends have said ;the san diego con has lost its true meaning.
P.S I that Daforce was banned from the comic con(:
