Wow, what an episode:jump2:
I cant belive Apollo is now in command of the Pegasus.
But I really didnt care for the abortion issue being brought in.
Anyway, you can read my review here (http://www.jonja.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=855)

I expected Apollo to wind up in command by the end of the episode. As for the abortion issue it makes sense that it would come up sooner or later because of the small population of the fleet. I think Roslyn made the only logical choice and applaud the producers for having the balls to tackle the issue.
And I really liked the character of Garner. Neother psychotic like Kane or corrupt like the second commander (forget his name) he was simply a decent man in way over his head. In peacetime or with time to grow into the job he might even have made a good commander and deserved the hero's death he was given.

I wonder now if anyone in the fleet is going to make an issue now of the fact that Odama is in charge of one battlestar and he put his son in charge of the other battlestar. I agree that Garner might've been a good commander had he had time to grow into the role, but the fact that he could hold grudges against his own crew was his failing.
I can't wait to see what happens to the terrorist who talked Baltar into running against Roslyn (can't remember the guy's name for the life of me). You know he thinks that he'll be able to control Baltar as a puppet president, but he doesn't have a clue that Baltar has his own agenda. That'll be a surprise for him!
Can't wait for next week!
He's Tom Zerek, KV.
Great episode. There were a couple of issues to think about. I also think the crew of the Pegasus might not like Apollo in command. That might set up a future problem.

I think that handing off the Pegasus to Apollo makes a lot of sense for Admiral Adama. He knows his son at least as well as any officer in the fleet. The producers have said before that they will only borrow things from the original series if it will improve things on the reimagining. Another thing they mentioned was that they really didn't know how long they were going to keep the Pegasus around and that it wasnt out of the realm of possibility that there would be more battlestars out there that remained to be disovered. I think that the Pegasus will remain on the show until at least next season and to be honest I think it makes more sense to have the Beast available.
One of the things about the TOS use of the Pegasus was that Adama was so cavalier about throwing the Pegasus against a few basestars.
Imagine the tactical situation they find themselves in. They are on the run and out gunned. I can't see Adama risking one of his battlestars so cheaply.
In this episode I really liked the non verbal exchange between the Commander of the Pegasus and Apollo. The Commander knew he had made what was most likely going to be the last mistake of his life. Apollo was appropriately shocked that the Commander would be willing to leave the bridge to "go check out things below..."
I liked how it took a few seconds for Apollo to react and start to issue orders. As for the crew of the Pegasus, anyone on the bridge during the Melee will see that Apollo kept his head under pressure and led them out what could have been a death trap.
(How cool was the inverted viper landing sequence for the underside landing bay?)
You could feel his promotion coming, he handled himself and the Beast with a steady hand and even blodied the Cylons for biting off more than they could chew.
All around one of the best episodes this season. The side issues for the episode (the election, the abortion thing...) were handled fairly well and fleshed out the episode.
This is easily the best show on TV.
And I am loving every minute of it.

Insanely jealous. Waiting for season 2.5
How long are you going to be gone, man? Didn't you deploy last spring? I can't remember.

Did Ron Moore post a podcast for this episode? My iTunes hasn't updated from Sacrifice.
