Thank you, everyone. I would have gotten in here last week but was nowhere near the 'net. And I didn't get to do karaoke. Instead, I was out getting an all-natural tan since I'm all-natural (no Pro-Tan here, bitch! HAHA!!! :D). I was doing it in Kaua'i. Actually, not in Kaua'i but along the coast of Kaua'i on a powered catamaran between episodes of puking. We did do a helicopter tour of the island earlier in the week, though. That was fun as hell, especially since it was doors off.
As for the new CS album, my interest in them has waned in the last couple years. I guess it really started when Shane left the band. More and more, it's just becoming Ed's personal, musical soapbox rather than a group effort and it shows on the new material I've heard (Today, Hollywood), the production and performance style on Home and the choice to do a milquetoast acoustic EP whose crowning (blah) moment is the excised title track from the previous album while a fucking standout version of a song (After All) that was weighed down too heavily by over-production and over-writing on Blender which they performed the hell out of for all of 2004 and 2005 doesn't make it. Sure, he's always been the primary songwriter but he really did need a strong rock guitarist and drummer to balance his pop tendencies. It's well evidenced on their second, third and fourth albums.
I digress. Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. I had a great time. And I do still think about this place on a regular basis; I just don't have the stomach to rededicate the time right now. I'm really trying to be more focused on work and I really can't do that with a board of this traffic level right now.
