So many people are spiritually non-existant.
My favorite movie quote of all time, from "Joe Versus the Volcano":
My father says that almost the whole world is asleep. Everybody you know. Everybody you see. Everybody you talk to. He says that only a few people are awake and they live in a state of constant total amazement.
I believe that more and more every remaining day of my life.

I hate the bystander effect. It kind of makes me lose faith in my fellow man. What of it there was left, anyway.
Is it ironic that reading this story makes me want to go out and stab the people involved?

Tragic irony or poetic justice...you decide.

I like poetic justice better. Then I can be poetically justified rather than indicted for, like, assault with a deadly weapon.
