I'd like to introduce my beautiful daughter, Bailey Rose Puskar
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v235/fastcar151/Picture044.jpg
She was born at 8:03am Thursday, July 5th, 2007
She weighed in at a whopping 6lbs. 8oz. and is 19 1/2 inches long.
Her and mom are doing well. She seems to respond well to my holding her. "I've got the magic touch." Shannon says.
The misses had a C-Section since baby was definitely breech, coming out butt first and then relieved herself both front and back right on the doctor.
Pre-op was a bit rough for Shannon. She had a little trouble with her blood pressure before surgery. I came in and was given the honor of holding the little one soon after delivery.
I then went into the waiting room to share the good news and Shannon's dad said I had a shit eating grin that you couldn't knock off with a sledge hammer.
I have more pictures on my camera that I will share once I download them. This came from my cell.

Very nice!!
Can't stress the sleep business enough. Get as much as you can.
Some other advice....DO NOT ROCK HER TO SLEEP. Wake her up before you lay her for a nap or for the night. Seems cruel, but so very necessary for your own sanity. She needs to learn to fall asleep by herself, else you risk becoming her zombie slave.

Babies are so sweet. I was visiting with my husband's family today and took the opportunity to hold and rock my 10-month-old nephew. He's very cute, but insists on sucking his parents' thumbs instead of a binky.
I didn't put up with any of that nonsense; instead he looked down my shirt in misguided hope of dinner and then drooled. So Speedy, welcome to the world of drool and other bodily fluids you will soon have all over you.

It's been a rough few days. Feedings are not going smoothly as we'd hoped. But, Shannon's milk has finally come in. That gets us one part of the battle. It has taking two of us to feed her. Shannon is using a shield to promote the latching and we are dribbling formula from a syringe onto it as an enticement. They told us at the hospital to only give her a half oz per feeding, but the lactation consultant called yersterday and told us to do a full oz.
We hadn't been feeding her enough, I guess. She also had trouble the first night home. Shannon needed to get some sleep to help her heal, so I spent the night on the couch holding her in my arms to help her sleep. Last night she made it through from 2-9 with a few wake ups and feedings.
She managed to get her whole backside, onesie and all covered with poo.
Still, she's got me wrapped around her finger.
She's already pushing her head up from my chest when she is against it, and in her boppy, she's managed to turn to her side.

Ironic I join this thread after that statement. :)
Congratulations, Fastcar, and I hope you and the wife get thru this with your nerves intact. Let us know in 18 years. :)
Just kidding, Fastcar, congratulations, and I hope everything goes a bit smoother.
Aside from the poo, anyways. :(
