And this just goes to show that punk bands are prophetic. While I was still in college about 6 years ago, I knew this chick who's boyfriend was in a punk band. They had a song called "United Police States" which was all about an attempt to consolidate power and effectively enact a police state through fear of foreign threats, a path which they had already perceived us being on.
