So....have at it people. I've yet to see last week's episode (on my way to the tape now) so I really can't comment much.

Hope to be caught up in time for discussion tonight though!

have at it...

I've been expecting this development in Samwise's character since he showed up. And I'm glad to see it...the paranoia adds a nice element to the otherwise tranquil CTU atmosphere.

Logan is still a weenie. But he's a great character. Such a weasel, always looking for someone to pin the blame on. (Side note...I just saw him in a Friends rerun, the one where Phoebe gets married. I think he was the father of the groom.)

Jack wasn't a huge player in this one, though it was good to see him take out Curtis, especially after Curtis threatened him earlier. "Don't make this harder than it is"? Puh-lease. Jack Bauer shaves with a chainsaw.

I figured the Russian president would at least eventually be a target. Since he's there and all, makes a nice Plan B. I doubt the First Crazy Lady will be taken out, but I was saddened to see Aaron in the car. As the only person other than Jack, Tony, and Palmer to be in all four seasons so far, I hope he doesn't get taken out here. Especially since Palmer's already gone, and Tony may not be far behind (still holding out for another miraculous Almeida recovery).

And this is what continues to make 24 such a great show.
The way they add on the pressure with each consecutive episode
to the point where, you couldn't possibly see how it could get worse,
and then it does by the next one.

The high(President)/low(thug-sister) pressure being applied to Lynn McGill right now is near legendary at this point.
I'm expecting him to pop like a pimple for it any hour now.
And I know a lot of folks aren't fans of watching the previews for next
week's ep, but when I saw it, my jaw nearly crashed to the floor.
One of those "how in the world did it get to THAT level???" moments.

I predict the Hobbit will self implode soon enough, and be carted away
in a straight jacket to la-la land. :ohwell:

All I have to say is that the First Lady is either extremely gutsy, extremely desperate, extremely insane, or some extreme mixture of the above.

Agreed, but I wished we could read her mind as Logan said, "I just need to you understand why," cuz you know she was thinking: "I know why. You're a coward and YOU HAVE NO BALLS." :angry

Lynn is turning into a freakazoid, and I'm wondering what he needs that keycard for, and whether he will need it before or after the funnymen come to take him away, ha ha ho ho hee hee. I hope they keep him in a little longer, just to keep the hammer down at CTU.

And speaking of CTU, why didn't Mike Novick suggest to President No-Balls that they have CTU plan something to trap the terrorists' when they attack the motorcade? Switch out and have a fake motorcade, capture the attackers, and procede from there?

And speaking of Mike Novick ... if my memory serves, he's also one of the few characters, besides Jack, Tony, Aaron, and Palmer, to appear in all five seasons of the show. Just givin' the dude his due.

I don't think Mike was in the third season. He got fired by Palmer in the second season, and I don't think he showed up again until Logan became president in the fourth. I could be wrong.

and I'm wondering what he needs that keycard for

I was wondering that myself. I figured it was what they used to get back INTO CTU. The card they scan to open locks....obviously not. He got back in just fine.

Logan really showed his true nature with his betrayal of the Russian President. As far as I'm concerned, Logan no longer is President, and Bauer now has the duty to help restore some honor to the office. With Novic now having dishonored himself, only the First Lady is really showing some Presidential integrity. Maybe she'll end up as President?

The First Lady is becoming one of my favourite new characters of the last few seasons.

I found this interesting, in the initial conversation between Jack and Nathenson, when Jack tells him to hand himself into the authorities Nathensen says "Walt Cummings isn’t the only one behind this operation who works inside the Government"

Wonder at what level this person is working at and when will we get to see him/her/them........

The brief but vital revelation of who Nathansen is shows that there is more
than one party involved in this insanity. Who they are and why they are against each other I am VERY much interested in knowing.

Also, I'm not sure if anyone caught this, but just before Lynn blew up at the CTU floor, Buchanan was asking Lynn for his security key card to access something, but since the convo was somewhat in the background due to Chloe and Audrey working to cover things up, I didn't catch all of it.
But rest assured, it added fuel to the fire of Lynn losing his grip.
