I got promoted today!

Recieved a present from milady today, day before I left. Promised her I wouldn't open it until the 10th (my b-day).

Off to Romania (yes, I can tell you now) to rock 'em as only I can...

Be back in a month, check in when I can, y'all...

My grandfather died in Romania, heart attack from natural causes. It was 1973, and his church singing group was touring the Eastern Bloc. Pretty cool for small-town Americans who never left home before.

The commies didn't give the body back until a month later, and when they did, the coffin was permanently sealed. We really have no way of knowing if the guy we buried was my grandfather.

I'm a Specialist. Same pay grade as Corporal, but not NCO authority. Next step, Sergeant.
