Here's a new forum and a new look at our forum community. To keep everything more streamlined and easily indexed, we're going to be using this forum to put our movie reviews.
If you want start a new review thread on whatever new release in theaters you've seen recently, just word the title of the thread with the title of the film like I've done above..
Also, be sure to attach a poll to the review thread to give your fellow Maniacs a chance to vote on the film in question before they put their own thoughts down..

you can view the poll results before you make your decision... isnt that a tad bias?

You're going to make the poll results biased towards your decision?!?!
If you absolutely hated this movie, vote it a 1...
If you loved this movie over the other two...vote it a 8-10...

well I personally wouldnt do that, I'm just saying the opportunity is there to peek at the poll results first and see if the votes are lopsided or evenly distributed, then throw your vote one way or the other before even seeing the movie.

There should be a "not interested" option. That'd be my vote.

I liked this one......it was a good solid fun movie, I think the moved the story along very well, gave it some good action, a good grim end of the world setting. I think that all the characters meshed very well in this one, and you can tell they had fun making this one, which I always think adds value to a movie. Over all I gave it a 8 a must see for any fan of the series, or zombie movies in general.

If you are a fan of the Resident Evil movies, you will probably enjoy this one. In fact, I enjoyed it for the most part. However, I gave it such a low score because the movie lacks a proper climax. Like the previous two movies RE: Extinction has a sort of cliffhanger at the end...a sort of coda setting up a possible sequel. Unlike the first two movies, Extinction's coda setup should have been used in this movie.
I liked everything in the movie leading up to the end, especially the birds. However it just seemed incomplete. The climax to the movie was short and unimaginative. The bad guy goes down after hardly any fight. It just seemed very anticlimactic compared to what the film seemed to be setting up.
6/10The whole movie sets up Alice's clones existing in the Umbrella facility, and even makes it seem like they will be used in a final showdown with Umbrella. Unfortunately the movie doesn't actually go there. It's like the movie finally gets to the cool ending where Alice and her clones are going to attack the Umbrella Corp and then just stops. It's like going to Disneyland and turning around once you see the front gates.

I gave it an 8. I really enjoyed it. Ali Larter was a better Claire than I expected, so that was a nice bonus. If only we could get Chris and/or Leon in the next one, that would be pretty cool.
While I hated to see him get killed, Carlos' death was badass. If he had to die, I'm glad he went in such a badass manner. Oded Fehr is awesome. He made a good Carlos and was awesome in the Mummy movies.

I agree with TV's spoiler box. That was probably the coolest part of the movie. :D

I really liked this movie. I thought it was the best of the three since it really seemed to get its own identity and even had an explanation for "fast" zombies.
I think the only problem I had at all:
Was the endless storage box of mad zombies
Other than that, I can't wait for the DVD.
I thought this was supposed to be the end of a trilogy, but it finished off like the games. Maybe they'll make a new movie that never touches on what happens (much like RE 4 the game)

I gave it an 8.
I thought it kept really well with the tone of the previous films while doing its own thing. The whole opening sequence was great, really had that "WTF?" feeling. I liked the new monsters they introduced, especially the carnivorous crows, that was one of my favorite parts of the film. I wish Alice had used her psychic powers just a bit more, but all the times she did were pretty cool.
I agree with the other reviews posted here in that the ending was kind of subpar. As soon as Alice starting fighting the final monster, I thought "they're gonna wind up in the laser hallway, aren't they?" Then just when you thought it was gonna get even cooler, it ended (they obviously are setting up for some kind of sequel, even though they've said this is supposed to be the last one). I really want to see Alice kick Wesker's ass. He's such a bastard in the games, I want to see him get beat down on-screen.
Unfortunately, if you haven't seen the first two movies, you probably won't understand why certain characters do what they do. I went with a friend who hadn't seen the first two but he still enjoyed this one, even though I had to explain quite a few things during the movie.
Overall, a fun popcorn flick that's better than most of the "horror films" Hollywood has been churning out recently.

I'm sorry... an EIGHT??? ouch... I gave it a 5.
I liked it when I saw it the first time.... Mad Max, The Birds, Matrix Trilogy, Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Alien³ and more movies were blatantly ripped off in this flick and I'm convinced that it was better than it should have been only because of Russell Mulcahy's directing abilities... not because Paul WS Anderson knows how to write an effective screenplay... he's very VERY good at doing two things:
1) stealing from other better movies
2)abandoning their plotlines mid-movie
you CANNOT call this an original movie... since it was entirely and blatantly stolen from other movies!!!
EIGHT? friggin EIGHT???? good lord.
